When having "Calculate on bar close" set to False and having ShowObjects set to True it will paint erroneous painted objects. The reason for this is when price action blasts off and the CCI (let's say) hits above the 200 line it will paint the lime object and if price action reverses on the same bar which brings the CCI below the 200 line the object that got painted will stay. I haven't quit figured out how to code that portion of the code.
It's best to have "Calculate on bar close" set to True with ShowObjects = True.
It's best to have "Calculate on bar close" set to False with ShowObjects = False.
When having "Calculate on bar close" set to False with ShowObjects = True it will paint the objects correctly as price action moves.
Scenarios:
If price goes above the 200 line area, it will paint a lime object, if price drops below the 200 line, the object will change to a darkblue object.
If price is in the 100 line area, it will paint a maroon object, if price drops below the 100 line area, the object will be removed.
Basic automated strategy using the CCI indicator. Strategy will buy when CCI crosses above oversold (default -100) and strategy will sell when CCI crosses below overbought. If 0 is input as stop or limit, the strategy will default to stop and reverse logic.
This indicator was written according to the trading method developed by Jeff Castille (Jeff's CCI thread). It is a 50 period CCI histograph with an additional 6 period CCI plot. It has Jeff's Dots plotted on the zero line and two, angle of the moving average thresholds, plotted on the 100 and -100 lines. The hisograph and the CCI(6) change colors above and below the zero line. The CCI(50) changes colors above the 100 line and below the -100 line. This was written in v6.5. I am NOT a programmer. Have a professional check the code before trading real money with it.

There was something wrong with the export I did 6 January 2011. If you downloaded before 8 January 2011 the version you downloaded probably will not import. Sorry for any inconvenience.
The original version colors the background depending on the user set threshold but does not change the lines on the Histograph. This version sets the lines according to the threshold as well as changes the background color.
Some of you may be using the Adaptive_CCI that I shared some time ago on this forum. This version of the CCI is a simpler version and optimized a bit.
Separate definable colors are available to distinguish between the above the zero line CCI and below the zero line CCI.
This version maintains the ability to select an adaptive period by placing a "0" in the period field.
Changelog:
March 20 2013: Reposted because thanks to @Taggart for noticing a serialization problem where the colors would not repaint after a chart was saved.

Indicator paints when confirming both CCIs above or below zero. Can use one CCI for trend and other for entries and exits similar to Jeff's CCI - but longer frame CCI for trend instead of MAs. CCI lengths are adjustable inputs. Need to change color of your instrument bar to the neutral color (yellow in my case). Noob with EL so take it easy on me.
