The ZeroLagHATEMA is a Heikin-Ashi smoothed zerolagging moving average, which was presented by Sylvain Vervoort in the May 2008 edition of the TASC (Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities) magazine.

The original version of this indicator was coded for the Trader's Tips of TASC and is available as a NinjaTrader download.

This is an updated version for NT 7.0, which has a bug of the original indicator removed.

Zig Zag Indicator I use with PATS (Macks) method 5 *
This is a custom zig-zag indicator I have modified ( original version was from here but cannot find reference).
The zig zag lines are transparent by default as well and the value numbers removed so that background objects do not hose charting. The only thing I use for PATS is the semaphore dots this creates to check and create new trend lines. In addition whenever a semaphore is painted this has an option to add an audio alert. This feature has been invaluable to my trading. If you follow Mack and PATS this simple indicator might provide value to you.

ZiggetyZag - ProAm rotation spotter - broke in 8.0.17.0 5 *
I like to see where a ProAm level is broken at speed. For this I use my ZiggetyZag indicator. It checks for a rotation around PoAm bars with Velocity and a break. Cyan bar and arrow.

This installs smaProAm and VelocityBarsV2 (by Okina).

ZigZag Parabolic (MetaTrader) 4 *
ZigZagOnParabolic MetaTrader indicator — based on two standard MT4/MT5 indicators — ZigZag and Parabolic SAR, it tries to show an improved version of the first one by marking the extrema of the chart with a smaller delay. Standard ZigZag looks for new extremum by searching the percentage deviation of the price from the previous extremum. This new ZigZag does so by looking at the Parabolic SAR indicator. Both ZigZag and the Parabolic SAR are drawn atop of the chart.

Input parameters:

  • Step (default = 0.02) — one of the parameters of the standard Parabolic SAR indicator.
  • Maximum (default = 0.2) — another parameter of the standard Parabolic SAR indicator.
  • ExtremumsShift (default = true) — if true then the extrema are shown at their actual places; if false then the extrema are shown at the points in time when they were detected. Useful to see the delay between the actual extremum appearance and its detection point.
  • History (default = 0) — amount of bars to use for calculation of the indicator. Change only if your PC is really slow. 0 — all bars are used in the calculation.

This spreadsheet study produces an oscillator of the relationship of price to the previous zigzag swing high/low.

Unzip the attached and put the contents in your Sierra Chart \Data folder, then click on Analysis >> ZigZag Price Osc-

The formulas use the Last price as the reference. If you want it based on something else, edit the formulas in cells K3 and L3, replacing E4 with your preferred row 4 reference or formula.

Version 1.20 (09/08/2015) Added option to show average swing volume text in stead of cumulative swing volume text.

This indicator is inspired on the Weis Wave with its cumulative wave volume. It plots a cumulative ZigZag volume histogram, a ZigZag line and the cumulative volume, price change and/or duration of the up/down swing at the swing high/low.

The ZigZag line can be based on point, percentage, ATR or UTC retracements.
The UTC retracement method is based on John R. Hill, George Pruitt, and Lundy Hill's description in their book The Ultimate Trading Guide, page 39: "A top pivot point is the highest price in a movement prior to penetration of the low of the top bar. A bottom pivot point is the lowest price in a movement prior to penetration of the high of the low bar." The UTC version is an improved version in which the highs and lows are calculated over a period. Longer periods make the ZigZag UTC less sensitive. The default period for the UTC is 2 bars.

Inputs:
HiPrice( close ): price field for high swings
LoPrice( close ): price field for low swings
RetraceMethod( 1 ): 1=Pnt, 2=%, 3=ATR, 4=UTC
Period( 2 ): number of bars over which ATR or UTC is calculated
Retrace( 0 ): retracement in Pnt, % or ATR multiple
PlotVolume( true ): plots cumulative volume histogram
PlotSwings( true ): plots ZigZag lines
PlotVolumeText( true ): plots cumulative volume of up/down swing at swing high/low
AvgVolume( false ): shows average swing volume text in stead of cumulative swing volume text
ScaleVolumeBy( 1 ): divides cumulative volume text by the number of this input
PlotPriceText( false ): plots price change of up/down swing at swing high/low
PlotTimeText( false ): plots duration of up/down swing at swing high/low
LineWidth( 0 ): line width of ZigZag lines: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6
LineStyle( tool_solid): line style of ZigZag lines: tool_solid, tool_dotted, tool_dashed, tool_dashed2, tool_dashed3
UpColor( red ): line color of upswings: PowerLanguage colors
DnColor( red ): line color of downswings: PowerLanguage colors
TextColor( black ): text color: PowerLanguage colors
