Hourly Pivots (amaPivotsHourly) 5 *
Version 1.0 January 14, 2019

The Hourly Pivots indicator applies the calculation used for daily floor pivots to intraday time frames. The indicator displays pivots for any selectable period of N minutes. All pivots are calculated from the high, low and close of the prior N-minute period. The pivots can be displayed as floor pivots, wide pivots or Fibonacci pivots. The indicator further plots the pivot range, which is a value area derived from the prior N-minute period.

The default setting of the indicator is 60 minutes. With default settings the indicator will display hourly pivots including the Main Pivot PP, Central Pivot CP, Directional Pivot DP, Pivot Range, R1, R2, R3, R4 S1, S2, S3 and S4. The first period always starts with the daily session break. Depending on the period selected, the last period of the session may terminate before completion. It will not carry over to the first period of the next session.

Pivot range: The pivot range is the range between CP and DP. It is a symmetrical range around the main pivot PP.

Prior high, low and close: The indicator also displays the high, low and close for the prior N-minute period. These levels often act as support or resistance for the consecutive N-minute period.

Pivot formulas:

All options: H = prior day high, L = prior day low, C = prior day close, X = H - L
Main Pivot: P = (H+L+C)/3
Central Pivot: CP = (H+L)/2
Directional Pivot: DP = 2*P - CP
Floor Pivots: P = (H+L+C)/3, R1 = 2*P - L, S1 = 2*P - H, R2 = P + X, S2 = P - X, R3 = R1 + X, S3 = S1 - X, R4 = R3 + (P-L), S4 = S3 - (H-P)
Wide Pivots: P = (H+L+C)/3, R1 = 2*P - L, S1 = 2*P - H, R2 = P + X, S2 = P - X, R3 = R2 + X, S3 = S2 - X, R4 = R3 + X, S4 = S3 - X
Fibonacci Pivots: R1 = P + 0.382*X, S1 = P - 0.382*X, R2 = P + 0.618*X, S2 = P - 0.618*X, R3 = P + X, S3 = P - X, R4 = P + 1.382*X, S4 = P - 1.382*X

ADXVMA (amaADXVMA) 5 *
Version 1.1 August 1, 2017

The Average Directional Index Variable Moving Average (ADXVMA) is a volatiltiy based moving average with the volatility being determined by the value of the ADX. The ADX provides levels of support during uptrends and resistance during downtrends. The indicator may also be used as a trendfilter. The trend can be positive, negative or neutral.

The ADXVMA that can be downloaded here may also be used with other input series than price. The trend can be shown via paint bars and is exposed as a public property.

Note: The ADXVMA has the trend exposed as a public property. This property can be accessed programmatically. However, it cannot be currently accessed via the market analyzer. In order to access the Trend series via the market analyzer, a specific MarketAnalyzerColumn is required. The MarketAnalyzerColumn is not yet included with the install file, as it has led to freezes with NT 8.0.8.0. The bug has been confirmed by NinjaTrader developers and only fixed with the latest release NT 8.0.9.0. (issue #12054). The market analyzer column and sound files for the ADXVMA will be availabe with a future update.

Opening Range (amaOpeningRange) 5 *
Version 2.2 January 31, 2018

The Opening Range is the range obtained from the highest and lowest price of a security during the first minutes of daily trading activity. For example the opening range can be calculated from the first 5, 15 or 30 minutes.

The opening period can be selected via the time zone, the start time and the end time of the opening period. For example if you wish to display a 30-minute opening range for ES, you would select Exchange_Time or US_Central_Standard_Time, a start time of 8:30 AM and an end time of 9:00 AM. The indicator will then display the regular open and the opening range high, low and midline.

You may also use this indicator to display the pre-session range. It is possible to display the entire pre-session range that covers the period from the start of the trading day until the regular open, or you may select a custom period for the pre-session.

The indicator will only return an accurate opening range, if it is calculated from minute bars that align to the start time and end time of the selected opening period. For example, if you wish to display an accurate 30-minute opening range for ES, you may only apply the indicator to 1-min, 2-min, 3-min, 5-min, 10-min, 15-min or 30-min bars. When selecting other bar periods or bar types, there will be overlapping bars in the beginning and the end of the opening period. This may result in a slightly inaccurate opening range.

If you wish to display a correct opening range on any bar type, please proceed as follows:

- Add a secondary bar series of 1-min*) bar to your primary price panel.
- Set the colors for candle outllines, candle wicks, up and down bars to transparent.
- Apply the indicator to the secondary 1-minute bars for an exact calculation.

*) When you add a minute bar series to a tick or volume chart, this will slightly distort the chart, as the bar spacing is adjusted to the duration of the bars. As a consequence of the law of large numbers, the distortion will be smaller, if you add a secondary bar series with a lower resolution. It is therefore recommended to use the highest bar period available that aligns to the start time and end time of the opening period. For a 30-min opening period for ES, you may therefore add 30-min bars instead of 1-min bars.

The chart attached shows the 30-min opening range on a 1000-tick chart to ES 12-17. The invisible secondary bars that were added are 30-min bars.

Update January 31, 2018: Version 2.1 did not properly calculate the opening range when the first bar of the opening range had a time stamp greater than the end time of the opening period (display of short period opening ranges on higher timeframe charts). Version 2.2 has the bug removed.

Line Alerts On Price & Indicators V3 5 *
Exported using NT 7.0.1000.25

This indicators allows you to enter user defined values, display them as horizontal lines and trigger alerts within a zone of several ticks or units around these lines.

The package includes two indicators:

- anaLineAlertsOnPrice
- anaLineAlertsOnIndicator.

Line Alerts On Price:

The indicator will automatically show up on the price panel. It can display up to 10 different alert lines. Each of the lines can be activated individually via the indicator dialogue box.

Sound alerts: When sounds are enabled, the indicator will generate sound alerts when one of the lines is approached. Sound files can be selected individually for each of the 10 alert lines.
E-mail alerts: When e-mails are enabled, the indicator will generate e-mail alerts when one of the lines is approached. For the e-mail feature you need to enter the sending and the destination e-mail via indicator dialogue box, and NinjaTrader should be enabled for sending e-mails under Tools -> Options -> Misc
Enabling lines: First enter an alert level and a label, then activate the line. Each line can be activated individually.
Trigger options: Cross_Above, Cross_Below & Cross_Above_Or_Below.
Offset in ticks: Allows to trigger an alert prior to the crossing of the line.
Rearm time: Can be set to avoid permanent triggering of alerts.

Line Alerts On Indicator:

The indicator can be used on other indicators and triggers an alert when the indicator value approaches the alert level. The referenced indicator should be used as the input series, and anaLineAlertsOnIndicator should be applied to the appropriate indicator panel manually.

Trigger options: Cross_Above, Cross_Below, Cross_Above_Or_Below, Larger_Than, Smaller_Than. The last two options should be used with histogram indicators such as volume.
Offset value: Allows to trigger an alert prior to the crossing of the line. The offset amount refers to the indicator scale.
Rearm time: Can be set to avoid permanent triggering of alerts.

Update July 28, 2011: Value 0 will be no longer displayed, if no values are entered for the second line. Number of lines reduced to 10. This is no restriction, as the indicator can be applied several times.
Update July 29, 2011: As lots of users tried to apply the lines to other indicators, I have added a version adapted for use with indicators.
Update August 3, 2011: Alert logic modified. Alert will fire when line is touched (offset = 0), or when a value is printed within the alert range (offset > 0).
Update December 7, 2011: A different sound file can now be selected for each of the lines. The user interface is improved.
Update September 20, 2012: For LineAlertsOnPrice option added to differentiate between Cross_Above and Cross_Below, for LineAlertsOnIndicator further option added for histograms, that is Larger_Than or Smaller_Than, new option added for e-mail alerts.
Update March 21, 2014: Small bug removed, indicator occasionally threw exceptions.
Update April 20, 2014: Values for price labels are now correctly display for interest futures in '16 / '32.
Update July 19, 2014: LineAlertsOnIndicator did not display all lines, when some of the alerts were disabled. Bug removed. LineAlertsOnPrice was not affected.

Fibonacci Lines (Daily, Yesterday, Weekly) 5 *
Not earth-shattering, but handy nonetheless: Fibonacci Lines for different time periods.

The PowerLanguage file contains the following indicators:
  • Fibonacci Lines (Daily); this indicator plots the Fibonacci lines for the current day;
  • Fibonacci Lines (Yesterday); this indicator plots on the current day the Fibonacci lines for yesterday;
  • Fibonacci Lines (Weekly); as you guessed it, this indicator plots the weekly Fibonacci lines.
Each of these indicators have the following features:
  • Fibonacci lines 76.4%, 61.8%, 38.2%, 23.6% as well as the high, low, and 50% level;
  • Option to individually turn each of these lines off;
  • Fibonacci levels are rounded to the number of decimals of the instrument;
  • To keep MultiCharts as efficient as possible, the new Fibonacci levels are only calculated at the close at the bar instead of on every tick. You can change the code to calculate on every tick.
  • Option to only display the current Fibonacci levels and not those of the previous day(s). This prevents chart skewing at the beginning of the day, when the current price is some distance from the previous Fibonacci levels, which leads to ugly charts. (See the attached screenshot to see how not plotting the values for yesterday gives a much clearer chart).

Custom Support and Resistance Lines (for MultiCharts) - v1
This small indicator displays custom lines of S/R. It could be used during live trading.
For the sake of clarity, the S/R levels are not automatically calculated (for instance with swing pivots). The price levels and names are directly set by the user in the input fields.
The lines change color when they are above and below the candles (switch between support and resistance).
The lines have the politeness not to "cross" the candles, for a better display.

The input fields allow defining price level and title for 10 lines.

A Tradestation show me to mark the strongest and recent pivots. Then draw lines marking those areas.

The example is shown with my Double WMA. The indicator is not very helpful on its own but when considering trend and price movement it is interesting

BMT Volume Pivots 5 *
I'm using this on a 5 minute chart. I am not sure of its usefulness on anything smaller.

You'll need a semi-wide right margin to see the text, or you can edit the indicator itself if you want to adjust that. v-d1..v-d5 just represents how many days back the line represents, I have it set to do a 5-day rolling action now.

All the lines are drawn ahead of time and do not change intraday.

z1TrendBars_v1
This is a modified version of an existing indicator for which I've been unable to uncover the original programmer.

As best I can interpret the code, it paints UpBars/DownBars based on whether the current Median Price is greater than or less than the Median Price of the last six bars.

It also uses two additional colors to mark where the Up/Down trend is fading, which is based on comparing the LinRegSlope of the last 3 bars rising/falling.

The Neutral Bar is colored when the current bar Median Price is equal to the Median Price of the last six bars.

My modification only added the "Hollow Candle" effect to Up closing bars. I did not change any of the Trend decision making program logic.
