I really enjoyed reading some of Don Vaello’s twitter comments, regarding his amazing day trading success…

“$1600 in only 22 minutes”
“$2260 in only 28 minutes. How was your trading today?”
“Cha-ching another $1300”
“Like taking candy from a baby. Another $2,000+ day”
“$10,500 profits trading crude oil. With only a 5 tick stop!”
On and on it goes. Twitter post after twitter post, all profits and never a mention of losses. All of this can be yours with the amazing Order Flow Analytics trading indicators.

Verifying Results

Obviously, with such amazing results, I needed to reach out to Don ‘DB’ Vaello and verify that these trades actually occurred. Unfortunately, Don ‘DB’ Vaello can show absolutely nothing to the TradingSchools.Org audience to validate the authenticity of these results. In fact, when questioned about these results, he readily admits that the posted results are only for “educational purposes” and “these are not real trades”.

My question to you is do you think he is faking these and the trades are for education purposes only?
Or is there is another reason he says "for educational purposes"
@emini2000 If you ever looked at his method and the reasoning of it I'm pretty sure you would grasp that those are trades a person can take with real money.

Recently, I signed up for OFA's free 'Level 1: Order Flow Essentials' course which I found interesting enough to sign-up for a 14-day OFA indicator trial subscription. So, long story short, I ended up leasing the OFA tools (after the 14-day trial expired) and purchased their 'Level 2: Trading the CWAP Swing' course. Primarily, the set-up uses the volume profile's CWAP & VWAP lines to determine trade entries and exits. I am currently using what I have learned in the Level 2 course and in the process of developing a trading strategy I hope to incorporate into my daily trading arsenal.

With that said, I was wondering if any folks here @ FIO that are currently using the OFA tools in their trading and, in particular, employing the CWAP/VWAP set-up. If so, I would be very much interested in sharing trading ideas & tips on this regard. Thank you.

Good question! CWAP is volume Cluster Weighted Average Price. It is an OFA (OrderFlowAnalytics) specific indicator.

I have been researching OFA for a bit now but I dont see a free trial (like they appeared to have many years ago). What do you think of them? Do the methods work? How long have you been trading with them? Do you use their trade room or just learned off of the videos? Also, did you just get OFA or did you get OFA/AlgoX? Etc. Just looking for an honest review. Cant find anything on the net. Thanks!

Hi @justin217

I have used OFA for several years. I also have used other footprint and volume profile software. eg: Gomi, MzPack, RanchoDinero, and others I have forgotten about. I don't really recommend one over the other - it all depends what you get used to. Some people like Fords, some like Chevys others like Toyotas.
I mainly like it because I can start and end the volume profile anywhere with a few mouse clicks and it instantly recalculates.

justin217
What do you think of them?

I find that OFA is easy to use and fast. I like the fact it doesn't need tick replay. But it also doesn't play well with some other volume and price indicators. Also - the footprint does not allow to filter out levels that are less than "x" like other footprint software does. The volume profile does not highlight high and low volume nodes like Gomi - you have to do it manually.

justin217
Do the methods work?

I use the software differently than DB does in his videos. Mainly because the market trades differently every day now. I look for absorption / rotation using volume profile and movement of POC starting at the prior high or low of a move, and then wait for the price to move in the opposite direction than prior move and for larger orders (trapped traders / new orders) to come in, then I trade the slight retracements to CWAP using Jigsaw in the direction of the new trend. But that's just me. I scalp. Every trader has a different "edge" and no two traders are alike. Best to develop yours through hard work.

justin217
How long have you been trading with them?

I have been using OFA since 2009 I believe. Jigsaw since 2012.

justin217
Do you use their trade room or just learned off of the videos?

I originally watched (and downloaded to my HD) all the Youtube videos (which are gone from YT now) and purchased every OFA trading course. I replayed Ninjatrader hundreds of times learning. I also put in hundreds of hours of real time sim trading. I never used their trading room and do not know if they have one now. As a side note - I did the same thing with Jigsaw and have all the YouTube educational vids on my HD that they charge for now.

justin217
Also, did you just get OFA or did you get OFA/AlgoX?

I just use the core OFA. I do not use any of the add-ons including Algo-X.

----------------

So, to sum up, OFA is a nice tool to use with a few other tools. But it depends on your trading style and risk parameters. If you watch DB trade, he catches falling knives but has a very logical risk/reward defined that allows him to never blow out his account and the wins are three to five times his risk. I would only recommend that style of trading for someone that is experienced, has a good psychological handle and has a trading account larger than $30K. Another actual trader (that I would recommend) with a similar style is a YouTuber that goes by Trader-Dale (I am not him) that also offers a similar software and education.

If anyone is unfamiliar with with OFA some of his videos are still up on YouTube by others re-posting them. One place I just found is: [yt]https://www.youtube.com/user/evertonpalexandre1/videos[/yt] (I am not him).

good luck,

I came across this thread. One odd thing I noticed is why there are so many people here asking someone to sell/transfer them a license.
