Well, perhaps if Ross includes it in a future edition you'll discover its use....

I've only just started seriously playing around with 9G, and find the built-in ladders frustrating because there is no history - so I'm working with some information on display, and then it suddenly disappears when a new bar starts.

It has also crashed NT at least once a day - I looked to see if there was a more recent version of the Lite edition on Optimus' website, but the only one I can find is the Pro edition.

I don't know if ross will include it in a future edition. but I know I'm not going to use it there's only little time, and I prefer to focus on important things. very briefly. before the trigger, I want to see how bid/ask reacts to volume at bid/ask. is there much interest or no interest at all. and if price goes the other way, then this is an opportunity with a small stop. and having the ladder right there with bid/ask is a tremendous help.

when you say frustrating because no history, isn't that the same with your feature? if price ticks back to the level, the amount gets zeroed?

anyway it takes some practice to get used to the ladder disappearing. in the beginning I did something similar to what @perryg suggested. normally I looked at a 4 range ladder. so in 9G, I started with a 10 range ladder. to have some kind of history. but this is no longer needed.

about the crashes, did you send a crash report / logs to ross? that should always help.

Thanks Perry, and thanks Silvester.

I suppose the difference is that it doesn't disappear at any arbitrary interval. Anyway, it's not "my feature", as I said earlier I stopped using it on my chart DOM; I was just trying to help clarify what it was and why people find it useful.

In general I don't think all these little tweaks make much difference to most traders' results, and certainly not to mine.

I sent reports - I should clarify for others that the crashes all occurred after I had been fiddling a lot with the design; otherwise it has been perfectly stable.

Nice dom particularly nice integration to the NT7 dom, easy entry of different order types, and the tab feature to save screen real estate.

If you're entering multiple Order types and doing so actively in a fast market it will certainly help with getting your orders out, however at this point the product doesn't have a mature feature list compared to say Jigsaw. I've read some enhancements are being planned though, and I'm looking forward to see what this product expands into. I then may consider purchasing it. Great work by the dev team, congrats.

Sands.

I was wrong about that; it crashed NT twice yesterday when I hadn't made any design changes.

The problem appears to have been caused by clicking on the bid/ask columns when the "Sell/Buy Action" was set to "Not Assigned". Removing the Action entirely seems to have solved it.

Appreciate the feedback mate, I'll look into this.

I have an order sitting on my 9G V 1.0.1.7 dom and all I want to do is move the target but I am unable to move the order without canceling it... its after hours, not sure if thats a factor.

I did a search for "Move order 9G Dom" and didn't find anything but a you tube video that was a little confusing. Followed the steps in the video and no joy, Anybody else able to move orders?

I don't know what kind of settings you have. there's an action "move order" that I use. and then I just have to left click in that column to move the order.

in the meantime you can always use the chart trader to move your order. also the last version is 1.0.1.8

edit: just in case, you'll lose your place in the queue either way. if you cancel or just move. so the outcome will be the same.

Thanks for the speedy response. I seem to have the same settings that you do except when I click in the price column it highlights the order but doesn't move it. I I click in the sell column it just adds another order. I don't think I was notified of a new version. Do you know where I can download it?
Thanks

sure. go here:

9G Trading

and then bottom right here:

so when you left click on the order it highlights. that's good. then you should be able to left click again at your new destination. that's kind of strange if it doesn't work

Yes - I agree odd, I see it working in the demo video. I'll load up the new version and give it a go. Thanks for the info!
