Hi, I've been taking a look around for some educational material that may suit my trading profile and I came across 2 companies that have what I saw as possibly interesting offerings. It would be very helpful if anyone here has any comments regarding these two companies and their products.

The first company is Rios Quant at Rios Quant Trade like a professional insider where they offer indicators for Trade Station and Ninja Trader such as RQ Channel, GNos Tick and even a fully automated robot called RQ Einstein. Their products are like in the thousands of dollars, like Einstein is like $2500 which is great, but does it work as advertised??!!!???!!

The second company is more of the educational side of things, SamuraiForexTrading Samurai Trading - The Elite [AUTOLINK]Range[/AUTOLINK] Bar System for Forex they use a Range Bar trading system which sounds awesome (I love Range Bars) and their introductory price is at $500 for their 60+ page course and 5+ hours of HD Videos.

So, if there is anyone with any experiences with either of these offerings and wouldn't mind sharing with the rest of us, that would be awesome!

Have a great weekend and Happy Trading!

James

Hey Blunt,

I recieved several email offering s from this company and they dont clearly explain what their trading system is based on other than diversification which is exactly what we here on this forum are not needing to discuss! Seems like a black hole to me. Did you find out anything?

Hey,

As I still have a day job while working on my own improvement of trading strategies, I was only able to attend one of their daily webinars and only for a while (I am discussing Rios Quants only). Although I am going to give you my opinion of what I saw at Rios Quants, I still strongly suggest if you have the time to please take the time to evaluate their offerings yourself as I am by far not as educated in this subject as I'd like to be and for sure I may have missed to learn something from them even from their own free webinar.

Firstly, I must say that Rios Quants do come across as a very nice group of people who will not pressure sell you anything.

So from what I learned about them is pretty much this, they have a two main indicators such as the GNosTick Indicator, RQ-Channel Indicator. Then they have an automated strategy system called RQ Einstein Auto Trading System.

Their indicators and auto trading system works with NT7 and TradeStation.

For discretionary trading using their indicators there is a 5 step rule which includes looking on their website through various membership fees for Quantitive values for stock strength etc..., RQTrader starting at 2000$, RQ Membership which is at 3000$ and RQInsider which is at 5000$. It's a little difficult to explain their pricing structure as each one comes with N number of days access to TradeLab, RQ Cross Box (RQ Quants Reports & Ranking) and access to workshops ranging from 30 days to 90 days.

As I listened to how their indicators are used, it is obvious that they must be used with the membership. Also, there was an indicator that plotted out levels for the day based on previous volatility which resembles Floor Pivots etc... although not the same, the code for this was apparently written more than 20 years ago for Trade Station and was never updated or changed. This for me implies at least that either the calculation for these levels are awesome and never needed to be updated or that the logic behind this doesn't work and therefore no other work was put into it since its initial conception.

One point with the Automated trading, I spoke with someone who is responsible for setting up, configuring all of Rios Quants indicators and Automated Trading and asked whether or not they are using the Automated Trading to gain their edge on the markets. Apparently, every single person at Rios Quants is a Trader.

My question therefore was, wouldn't someone who has direct contact with other traders at Rios Quants and their customer base be in the most unique position to be able to set up RQ Einstein and let it trade automatically???

The answer I received was that they really enjoy and prefer the discretionary side of trading so they don't use RQ Einstein much. I've never met a person who prefers the higher possibility of losing REAL money with discretionary trading over a sure thing such as the way they promote RQ Einstein Automated Trading. One of their presenters actually said that RQ Einstein has never made a losing trade!!!

Personally, I am investing my time elsewhere as it seems like Rios Quants is not exactly best suited with my trading style.

I was not able to find out anything else with SamuraiForexTrading...

Thanks

James

Hi James,

Interesting comments.

I had a look at Rios Quant and attended 2 of their live webinars. Was impressed that they looked at the intermarket relationships to minimise their risk before placing a trade. But, my observation was that my momentum indicators were better than theirs (and they want a high price for theirs).

Presumably, you didn't pursue either of them any further which begs the question: who else did you look at?

Regards, MarkG

p.s. I found that you can subscribe to RQ-Einstein for $250/month at: https://strategynetwork.tradestation.com/products/RQ-Einstein
Strange that they charge 10x that price for NinjaTrader 7 version.
