NT7 vs MC7? I've used and been happy with NT for quite a few years but I just downloaded and tried Multicharts now it has a DOM. I haven't had long to play with it yet but in the short time I have been using it I have managed to get charts the way I want them, hook it up to my Zenfire account and generally get it looking the way I have NT set up. Was surprisingly easy. Since I don't own an NT lifetime license, I am in the position to switch without much trouble but I thought I would get some opinions here first. So please, gimme your thoughts on the below points.
C++ vs easy language
Stability
Support
Costs
MC on Zenfire
anything else that might be relevant.
I'm guessing I'm not the only one this info would be useful too
Thanks in advance for all input.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
nonetheless, having access to the .NET libraries is a pretty huge plus for ninja for me. i chose NT as my platform for this reason several years back.
multicharts has come a long way and i'm impressed with each release they put out. i'm not a fan of easy-language as the name seems to contradict my experience with it. lol.
Hello
.i have drop Mc some time ago for Ninja .. now whit the Dom and graph trader ....
I come back to Mc ... some time to become accustomed .. and love -it !
realy stable !! and easy to understand ..
I think it was my new choice for many time...
It was easier for me to learn to use Easy Language than it was for me to learn enough "C" to do what I wanted to do. (I am not a programmer and was starting at Ground Zero) I was up and running with Easy Language in a very short period of time. But, I can do things now in "C" that I could not do with Easy Language.
When I evaluated Multicharts, it seemed very stable. I do not recall any crashing problems.
The few times I called support (Yes...I actually talked to someone), they were VERY fast to respond with the correct answer.
I have not looked at them since they added the DOM. I don't use a Dom so it wasn't a big thing for me.
I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.
My daddy always said, "Every day above ground is a good day!"
MC is built for automation. Only recently in v7 has discretionary even been added. I think you are confusing MCDT, the free version, with the regular product.
Obviously the c++ was a typo and I clearly meant c# lol.
So some generalizations I can make?
easy language isn't really... and although c# takes a little longer to learn it's more powerful in this kind of application.
MC7 is pretty stable?
You can talk to a real person at MC
MC7 is an automation package with discretionary stuff added and NT is discretionary with automation added
MC7 automation isn't as good as NT7?
A couple more questions if I may
Is anyone using MC 7 beta for live discretionary trading? Is so, found any show stopping bugs?
Can I have a demo account in MC7 for testing purposes like in NT. I haven't found this functionality yet if it exists.
Ok...You are probably right as I' m a numb skull when it comes to tech....was working with a decent guy who got completely stuck (coding) with 'profit postion' with MC...strange part was that it seemed to work with one indicator (vwap) but not another (ema)!!...don't understand that...and coder has since 'walked' through frustration with MC customer support. I thought they were pretty good.
Was then given that there was since a Beta7 ...personally,did not know that v7 'real' existed.
Therefore, I should retract previous post.
So...bottom line...is MC a sound product for automation?...I really like MC,but need to automate a 'simple' strategy and I have been given mixed messages to MC's capabilities.
