Nice review from Anand:

The MacBook Pro Review (13 & 15-inch): 2011 Brings Sandy Bridge - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News

I found this interesting as well (from Anand):

I know there are a lot of Mac fans on the site, what do you guys think of the review? Fair?

Mike

Well those new, and old, mac books are really nice. True they are a bit pricy
compared to equally equiped competitors but they are worth it.

The only thing holding me back to buy one for trading is that
natively you can't hook up 2 external monitors like 1900 * 1200

The new Dell XPS notebooks are not as slick as a Mac but good
value for money

You're in luck. Matrox has made DualHead2Go compatible with the Macbook Pro. They also have triple monitor support with the TripleHead2Go product.

My friend is using it with his 2009 15" MBP. He complained that the drivers were buggy, but they might be better now.

Re extra monitors, another option with good reviews: Newegg.com - IOGEAR External DVI Video Adapter GUC2020DW6 USB to DVI Interface
More on Elite Trader forum: Forums - Dual monitors from a notebook
(For the IOGear user, see Specterx's post on p.6. (And some also happy with Matrox and EVGA...))
( I don't have experience with IOGear or Matrox, just been reading lately... )

And I've heard that Apple may come out with their own way to go to extra monitors, 'daisychaining' I think it's called. Hopefully one of the more dedicated Mac users here will give you more up to date info.

If you read around on the web you will see that all those external devices,
to have 2 external monitors for your Mac, give a lot of problems for many people.
Undoubtly there are a lot of happy people but reading the comments i won't go that way.

I rather have native capability. Strange in a way that a PRO version can't do this
as the graphic chipsets that are in the Mac books are able to do this.

Hello, I sold every old mac on ebay and still got up to 50% of original price for it, even when it's 3 years old.

That is something you also have to keep in mind evaluating prices. How much is your old DULL laptop worth when it's 3 years old ?

i can understand that for some people the price or rest value is very important,
trading is expensive enough for some i quess.

But i rather have equipment that can do the job as I want it to do. Price and looks are secundairy.

Don't know if this is the best place for this question or not, but I figured a group of Mac people would know. I have been trading on a MBP 17" and primarily using Tradestation. I am switching to Ninja, but having some difficulty finding out how to configure the DOM to let me place a Stop buy or sell? Seems that you need a three button mouse or something. Any direction would be most appreciated. Thanks, Brad
