I'd like to take a measurement of how far a certain set of indicators are above or below a specified threshold (different for each one) and abstract that to a measure of intensity (positive or negative). Does anyone know what this would be called? I can't start googling how to do it, until I know what it is I'm trying to do.

google MACD, if you can do MACD of a indicator then you could see its strength/weakness by looking at MACD's histogram.

zwentz,

Call the outputs of each indicator you want to use into a new indicator. Specify your threshold.

Plot the difference for each indicator with its own plot line with respect to the threshold.
