Hi,
I was trying to add the longer term MACD to my other indicator on a shorter time frame chart. But unfortunatelly this is not possible according to Ninja. Is there a way around this? How can I check values of higher time frame MACD ind. inside my shorter time frame indicator please? Say, I'm using 3 min. chart and would like to check the values and direction of the MACD on 10 min chart. Is there a way? In short, I'm trying to implement multitimeframe strategy but w/out the strategy, using indicators only.
Thank you very much.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
(1) You code an indicator, which displays the higher timeframe MACD. This can be easily done, if your higher timeframe is an integer multiple of the lower timeframe (3 min and 10 min will not easily work, as the multiple is 3.3). This is the only option which works with NT 6.5.
(2) You code an indicator which loads a second Bar Series and calculate the MACD from the second barSeries. This is possible with NT 7, but these multi-barseries charts are not as stable as the single barSeries charts.
(3) You load a chart with 2 DataSeries, for example ES 03-11 3 min and ES 03-11 10 min. Then you display both DataSeries on the same chart. For the 10 min DataSeries you can set the bars to transparent, so you cannot see them. Now you apply an indicator to the second invisible DataSeries, as shown below. Only works with NT 7.0.
Thank you very much.
I did not try anything yet as I'm away from home. I'm not quite clear on how to code the indicator which displays the higher timeframe MACD... Do i need to code this indicator from scratch or it comes to copying, pasting & adjusting the periods? I'd be willing reasonably reward anyone who can code this for me. I need to get values from that indicator such as Rising/Falling etc...
Thank you very much again.
