I need help picking a charting platform. I've read the threads till I got a headache. I guess my situation is a little different.

Right now I have infinity AT, and I like the dom and I'm sticking with them. I use Tradestation for charting. At 260$ a month I don't feel like they are worth it. I have recently been using Infinity's charts, which is just Sierra Charts with there name on it. Heres the problem, it uses the transact data feed, and I'm having problems with it freezing and lagging.

I would like a charting program, and data feed I can either pay for up front or be billed for. I hate having money in my Tradestation account just sitting there that could be in my Infinity account.

I was thinking about Ninja trader, but than I have to open an account with someone to get it for free.

I've been looking into neoticker, or multicharts. I need a charting program and a data feed that isn't going to cost me a fortune. I only trade CL, ES, and the grains.

The only thing I need is High Def charts, multi monitor capable, Time and sales, and it be able to handle alot of charts. The more simple and pretty it is the better. I do not backtest, or run indicators or anything like that. I usually have about 8 time and sales open, and about 12-16 charts open. I just need a stable platform that can handle alot of data and alot of windows open. Thanks for any recommendations I get.

Why not use Sierra Charts then and DTN IQfeed? DTN is the best feed you can get in my opinion and will solve the data feed problems, and you are already familiar with the charting of Sierra Charts plus you can get it free through some brokers like Velocity Futures, and if not free then close to it even if you pay out of pocket yourself directly to Sierra Chart each month.

hey big mike, i thought about that. i'm going to have to look into it, since its "infinity charts" so I'm going to have to give infinity a call about it.

as for an update, I downloaded multicharts, which i really like, but no time and sales? what is that about?

I also downloaded neoticker, which could be an awesome platform, but the learning curve is so step i get frustrated after 5 mins and end up closing it.

i'm also looking into ensign, i'm going to download a trail later tonight

as of right now, infinity charts with the transact data feed is looking better and better since i get it for free, and even if i do go with IQ feed, i'm pretty sure I can get the exchange fees waved, thats another thing i'll have to talk to infinity about.

Big thanks to Vegasfoster. He told me about velocity futures and x trader for free. Does anyone know if you have x trader if you can use the data for sierra charts, or do you have to buy the feed separately. as of right now i play on keeping my account with infinity, using infinity charts, and sign up with velocity with x trader. than just using the x trader feed to power infinity charts. anyone know if this will work or not?
