I have just set up a Pats connection to Ninja Trader for the first time with a new broker. I have not had any luck with the broker or NT in getting the exact code for the Australian SFE SPI-200 December 2010 Futures Contract. I have found the code for the SPI 200 is S_AP in the Pats section of Ninja. But it doesn't give the code for the December 2010 contract. I have tried S_APZ0 and various variations with spaces and without, won't get any data. Also tried S_AP DEC10 etc S_AP 12-10, none of these work. Problem is the broker doesn't know much about NT. They have contacted Pats, but I am thinking the way things are going I will get an answer faster on futures.io (formerly BMT). Can anyone help me with this code. At this point I don't know if it is a code issue or something not set right on NT. The green Box does say connected to Pats, but i haven't been able to get data into any charts.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Don
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Just adding to my question above. Perhaps if someone can give me the Pats code for the S&P 500 e mini December 2010 contract., or the FTSE 100 december 2010 code then I may be able to work out how Pats have the December 2010 part of the code for the SPI200. Guessing most on futures.io (formerly BMT) are trading bigger markets than the aussy SPI200.
I have got the S_AP part but not the expiry month part.
I was doing a search for the SPI and came across your thread.
How do you go? Get connected alright?
I have used IB and NT in the past and it easily found the SPI data on the IB feed. I have switched from NT to MC after loosing the database data one to many times.
I have also been trying to trade the SPI and sometimes the FTSE.
New to futures.io (formerly BMT) & also wanting to chat to people about getting the index codes (definitions) for the various global indexes,
seems to be illusive,
Don you mentioned loosing your database with NT and since gone with MC, how does MC compare, not considering the crashing?
I can't help out much with the pats codes Angeloinauz as i didn't stay with Pats. The Pats data was filtered quite a bit which will greatly change any Volume based data. ( Price data was fine) So I no longer use Pats data.
Neil may be able to help you with MC. I have only used NT.
I was using NT but have moved to MC.
It was a breeze finding the SPI on NT and a bit harder on MC but basically I just looked for futures and then either AP or SPI as being the codes.
Feel free to add your name to the who trades the SPI list.
I was looking for some fellow SPI traders that might be interetsed in sharing chit chat, ideas etc.
By the SPI, I'm referring to the actual futures market ie currently APM1.
