Not another Platform !
I am a raw newbie and maybe I am still looking for the holy grail, but I see everyone is always looking for an advantage and testing your ideas quickly would be an advantage.

One advantage of Multicharts is Optimization and how it displays the results, but is uses the brute method approach - all combinations of all parameters. Neuroshell is about the same price as Multicharts and has different selling points.
One is that is uses a Neural Network to drop out useless parameters quickly and thus Optimize quicker. I do not know if speed is a problem with Optimization in Multicharts. I recently bought SSDs and will build a RAID0 computer, so maybe this will solve the problem. Neuroshell has 800 indicators builtin, and you can add custom indicators quickly, this is for building EAs quickly and testing your ideas quickly.
BUT - there is very little feedback on google, and you do not get a demo to try (you have 30 day money back guarantee). Neural networks sound good, but who knows how robust Neuroshell is.
my question -
I am leaning towards Multicharts, but am tempted to look at Neuroshell too, anybody with experience in Neuroshell
And to be accurate, Neuroshell is not a platform, but a tool for analysis.

MC has a genetic optimizer, the results of such optimization might be very close to an optimization with a neural network.
You don't need SSD drives and fast I/O, you need as many cores as possible, fast cores, and enough memory.

I am into anything that gives me an edge from a technology perspective... I did looked at NeuroShell and also BioComp Dakota & Profit.. similar but not the same... as you said, they cant be demo'ed.. which to me is an issue given neither is cheap, even with Ward offers a 30 days money back guarantee.

a small correction to your post... the price for what would be equivalent to MC6 is $2500 since you need the DayTrader edition, the regular pro wont do intraday.

What I liked about NSDTP was that I could use NOXA CSSA indi's which have great reviews; the only other platform for it is MetaStock which does not have integrated trading from what I know. NSDTP is also limited to IBKR and PFGBest as brokers for order execution, and you can feed it IQFeed data, which is great if you already have it.

If you want to play with NN, look at tradingsolutions RT.. you can download a demo and play around with it, and they have a money back guarantee for 30 days. NN's are not the holy grail, but I believe they can adapt better depending on what you ask them to do... and no, they wont generate 500% returns.. but I am happy with 20-30% which is more realistic.. depending on account size of course...

I have seen a lot of people playing with NN on neuroshell with a lot of indicators, CSSA too, I tried it a bit too, but still not know someone who got some real trading results.
Now Ward System released this new toy Advanced Neural Network and Genetic Algorithm Software.

Take your Pips, go out and Live.
Luke.

ChaosHunter is not "newly" released... been around for what I would call a while... and it helps you find relationships in your data and creates a formula that defines the relationship and can be used within a strategy... NSDTP does not include CH, and by itself it wont generate a formula... but there is a free alternative to CH, but you have to convert the formula into the platform code and use it within your strategy in MC/NT/TS/etc...

When I was looking into these software packages, I found the only worked on minute charts. Range bars seem to work better for the systems I've worked with, and you can always optimize your data set continually with NINJA as the market changes, that is what they are doing at EOT.
