How do I go about trading long and short at the same time, in the same security.
I might be long in ES but want to scalp it short without closing my long.
What are my options for enabling this capability.
On a side note, can anybody explain to me why I can't use the question mark while writing this without the cursor teleporting to the search bar and not even printing the question mark. Thank you, JM

I can go back into my post and edit in question marks like this "????" but when typing the original question from the home page, pressing that
key immediately sends the cursor to the search bar and does not put a "?" at the end of my question. That's my my post has periods at the ends
of my questions. I left it like that hoping to draw attention to it. Seems like a bug as my keyboard has no problem with "?" outside that situation.

It sounds like a bug, and one I am not able to reproduce?! (as you can see). But nonetheless, I will look into it and post a follow-up in the changelog thread.
I figured it would be something like that. Trying to find out if I need 2 license keys or if I can simply open a 2nd account on current license. Wondering if I'd have to buy NT8 twice or what's the story?
I asked in NT forum too. Just been too many times over the years wanted to do that. If I'm long ES on a daily chart then I can't daytrade any shorts. It's been pretty frustrating at times.
I would think you can use your regular NT with your regular data feed but with the possibility to switch between the main account (where you can go long) and subaccount (where you can go short).
You should verify that with NT to be sure (also about any additional costs). At the bottom of the web page linked above is an e-mail address you can contact for further information.
