For those interested, normally, you cannot install 2 or more instances of Rithmic R|Trader Pro and Ninjatrader on the same machine. I was able to find a workaround to install 2 instances of NT8 on the same machine. Each instance has its own NT login and key for its respective account.
I trade accounts with Apex and Leeloo and previously because I travel a lot, had to have them on separate VPS's in the past linked through a local network, but I was able to set up a second instance using Sandboxie. I was able to also include a second Rithmic R|Trader Pro instance as well in the same sandbox. It sped up my Replikanto trade copier being on a local machine local as well.
Hello! I appreciate you posting this information. I am in the process of trying to set something like this up myself to use with Replikanto. Are you using a trade copier, or just simply running two instances of Ninjatrader 8? I am new to trade copiers and all this stuff, and I am trying to figure out how best to set it up so that Replikanto works.
I use Replikanto and assign the IP it gives me on the sandboxed (slave) version on NT8. One time it displayed a local address eg.169.254.253.57 but now it seems to be using the server's IP address. I included both in the Node IP list so if it changes, it will always connect. Its been working flawlessly.
*note: The IP may have changed because after I paid for a license on Sandboxie thinking a different level of sandbox security might work better, but so far the default version has proven to be the best option. Maybe in the experimentation process, I changed things and it caused the different IP addresses to be used. You should be able to use it in the free configuration just fine. It needs at least the deafault level of isolation for NT8 to not recognize the original instance. Your second NT8 instance will need a separate NT8 account login.
You'll need to copy your installation of NT8 and Rithmic from the appropriate Program Files folders to the "C:\Program Files\Sandboxie-Plus\<sandbox name here>\ " directory and purchase a second license for the second instance of Replikanto. They have instructions on how to create a unique NT8 3rd party installation machine id to register on their website.

I've uploaded a sandbox template file with an NT8 instance on it to my google drive (link below) you should be up and running by just import it to sandboxie, run it, and add your account information. Make sure Windows Defender or any firewall software allows traffic to and from Sandboxie.In NT8 its the normal login (Apex doesn't allow plugins)
I appreciate you doing this, and will give it a try shortly. Truthfully, I have been struggling to get this up and running for some reason, although I have not had as much time to spend on it as thought. I will work on it now. Thank you!
In my case, I copied the original NT8 folder in program files and pasted it next to the original, then named the new folder 'NinjaTrader8 - Slave0'.
You will have to right click on your sandbox in Sandboxie and select run program. Find the NinjaTradet8 application in the new folder intended for the sandbox and run it. Should work as normal.
So, I am finally getting around to getting this set up (delayed by some family stuff and other things). I have gotten it to the point where I can get two instances of Ninjatrader pulled up and logged in. Where I am having difficulty now is both instances are generating the same machine ID to use with Replikanto. Don't I need two different machine ID's for this to work?
I have managed to get FlowBots Replikanto working by doing the following:
1. First install Replikanto on the primary NT8 and follow the guidelines to setup the licence (Control Center-->Help-->3rd Party Licensing) with Vendor Name "FlowBots" and User Defined ID of anything you want to call it
2. Then run Sandboxie on the primary NT8 ("C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 8\bin\NinjaTrader.exe") so that it copies the Replikanto add-on files as well as Replikanto licence information into the Sandboxie
3. On the Sandboxie NT8 Control Center, go to New-->FlowBots-->Replikanto
4. Right Click on the Replikanto window and choose the Properties menu
5. Change the Network Replikanto Port number to a different value e.g. 4548 (This is the port
number the Sandboxie NT8/Replikanto will listen on and should be different to the primary NT8/Replikanto port number) and then press OK
6. Check the box which says "Check to turn it on" on the Replikanto Window
7. Select the Instruments & Follower Accounts on the Sandboxie NT8
That should then be it. When you now place an order on the Primary NT8, then it should replicate to Sandboxie NT8 based on how you have configured the follower accounts and instruments.
Also, I have chosen to configure my Sandboxie (Sandboxie Options) to remove the quick recovery folders and uncheck "Enable Immediate Recovery" so that any changes on the Sandboxie NT8 are not copied back into the primary. This allows me to keep the primary as the master version.
