Do the Big Boy's trade the Micros ? Specifically MES ?

Are they trading huge numbers of contracts with the higher commission ?

Don't know if they trade them but you can bet your last $ that they arbitrage them to the big contract.

Hi newbie here, still figuring out how to post an intro, so complicated. Anyway, here is my response to the thread with my 2 cents. Machines absolutely trade the MES. How else can one explain the speed of px changes and the uniformity of the change. Some says 80% of trading is done by machinese thesedays and I don't think that's an exxageration. I used to trade the 5m chart and found it impossible and now use the 15m as my trading chart and the 5m and sometime 1m as my entry chart. I see some results. Let's be honest, anyone who has been trading long should know that it's not wrong direction that kills retail traders, it's trading without SL, moving SL and revenge trading that kill us. If one can cut out these bad habits, losses won't escalate even if your direction is wrong. One more bad habit is not being professional about trading thinking with trading you can win by working 15m a day, that's BS. We wait for set-ups and that takes time. If I am not up early to wait for set-ups I will miss those set-ups, as simple as that.

Yes, any time there are multiple contracts (such as ES and MES) trading the same underlying product (such as S&P 500 index) there will be high-frequency traders profiting from the momentary differences in prices.
