Hi everybody! I've been a lurker for a while, but just recently created an account to see if I could get some input and advice from successful traders regarding journaling.
I have a very hard time maintaining discipline journaling. Even with tools that allow exporting data directly onto an online journal, I often feel that reviewing my trades doesn't do much to "help" me. I know that I don't often include footnotes, which is likely hindering my progress. I find it very difficult to make notes on each and every trade, as I'm often caught up with price action and monitoring the trades I'm in, then can't remember what exactly I'd seen when I go to input notes later.
As most of my trades center roughly around the same strategy, I'm not sure what about these notes might help me gain insight; but I'm also self-aware enough to realize that journaling is an important tool that almost all successful traders utilize, and I need to make it a part of my toolbox, whether I want to or not.
I'm hoping maybe you guys have some tips or clues on how to better utilize journals, or perhaps some info on how you do it personally that you find helpful. Journal site recommendations are also welcome.
Thanks a bunch!
