Good day, I would be interested to hear from the seasoned traders on their opinion about trading an alternative emini product during the European time zone opening.
Living in Australia and working a day job from 5:30am to 4pm makes it very hard to get up at 12am to trade the ES. It is simply unsustainable.
Could anyone advise what they would recommend to trade during the European session , which will be 5pm -7pm Sydney time. Specifically something with similar margin requirements.
Currently I am looking at the 6E.

As an european trader, I trade ES as much as DAX in the morning - DAX futures exist in 25,5 and 1 euros per point.
ES liquidity is totally fine; NQ less liquid.
If you like it, you can also trade gold too.
In general, both european and US indices, bund, gold, WTI crude oil, are all very active from 8am european time (7am London).
Obviously the european cash stocks market open at 09:00 am provides some more volatitily. Things often calm down later, or trend.
I read somewhere that over the last 10 years or so the ES has moved more during the ON session than during the normal NY day session. I can't confirm that but have noticed it does move quite often during the ON. Not sure what time frame that would put you in.
Thanks , that will be around 6:30pm Sydney time and it sustainable and realistic. Getting up at 12am or 1am with your eyes hanging out of your head is just an untenable situation if you work full days.
Im in europe and trade NQ form 07:30 London time untill 09:30 more or less , it shows good moves but its not a caos like in US session, if NQ is too fast i switch to YM
I trade ES and CL during the European session. If you don't want to trade EUREX-futures, it is absolutely ok to trade ES during the European session, but if you have the data, you should always watch what the FDAX or the EuroStoxx50 is doing at this time, because in 95 % of the time they are leading the US-indices as well.
Take a look at crude oil and DAX/ mini Dax like others mentioned before on this post.
Gold and Natural gas are also worth looking at.
