You won’t get any where with there free virtual machines. They don’t provide enough cpu power or memory to run anything but the basics.. I’ve tried with tradestation. However, you can build a virtual mini super computer if you wanted. A 36 cpu, 128 gig windows system is like 1200 a month, but you only get charged by the hour. So, it’s something like $1.50 an hour. 10 cpu system is like 250 a month, but that’s at 730 hours a month. If you only run it for 10 hours, it’s like .68 cents an hour.
I’ve used systems like this to optimize huge data programs in minutes that my office computer would take days to run.
For my tradestation experience, there was a limit. I could have run a 50 cpu system and it didn’t optimize any faster than a 5 cpu system. Tradestation lacked the ability to utilize the extra power.
I don’t know about multicharts, call their support team and ask if adding memeory or cpus will help before setting up a azure system to test
Also, after you done, delete your virtual environment. Cpu and memeory are cheap, but Amazon and Microsoft will charge 30 dollars or more a month for storage. This adds up when you are not running it.
Hope that helps.
