Who loves the new Sierra Chart Menus?
Who thinks it is a great idea?
Who wishes they would go back to the old menus?
Who is pulling their hair out screaming? (like me...)
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
This has often been true for me as well, once I started to understand how they were laid out. Even though they are ugly and hard to understand at first.
(Edit, added for clarity: To someone coming in cold, Sierra Chart is redesigning their dialog windows, and they are totally non-Windows standard, and something of a challenge. And then some.)
I'm going to have to say that the old dialog boxes sometimes (often/usually) were hard to figure out also, until I was able to remember where things were, and to generally puzzle things out.
For instance, there was the old chart settings window, which had tabs for "Advanced Settings 1" (or was it "Additional Settings?") and "Advanced Settings 2" and "Advanced Settings 3"? You just had to know what would be on each of those tabs, because they weren't going to give you a clue otherwise. (Actually, I may have the names wrong, because I think my mind wanted to forget them as soon as possible.)
My theory has long been that the old dialogs were the work of someone who didn't have much of a sense of how to design things for users (and didn't care, either.) I think they got someone else to design the new ones, but that person also doesn't understand designing for users. (Or care.)
But I have to agree with @tomgilb that often I can understand them a little better, and I will go ahead and use them anyway.

I could visualize where certain things were on the old windows, whether left side or right, whether it was top left, bottom right and such. Now all the windows look the same so it takes much longer to find things. Gooey I’ll get used to it and learn where everything is again.
If you want the old menus and old style I download dozens of older version of Sierra Chart to find out which one was the last version to have the old style, which is version 2344. I use that version and it still works. And I will continue to use it until I can't because I cannot stand the black style spreadsheet interface Sierra has done. They don't care of the users don't like it, in fact they say that it is better since it does not rely on Microsoft dll library files, but to me the user I could care less about that at all...
Thank you for that info, let's hope we can still use this old version with the old menus for many years. I am evaluating/learning Sierra Chart and all YouTube Videos are with the old menus of course, so I literally find nothing! Also their own manual is with old buttons, so for beginners Sierra is unusable. From a UI design standpoint, the old menus were basic looking but better. The new ones leave unclarity about what's a button and what's a data box, and most things are hidden in some tabs.
