Trying to trade on the US market

I was trading futures when I lived in Brazil but since I moved abroad I can't trade because I'm not a fiscal resident anymore and because of that I'm looking to trade in the US market which is even better because I have more instruments to choose and I can trade after work hours. I still have some questions that I would like to solve before doing the move:

1) There is any way to test the Ninja Order Flow before buying it? It's a must for me and I don't want to pay the full price and discover that it's missing something or does not work as I expect.

2) If there is no way of testing it, there is any plugin cheaper or even free that offers the same functionalities?

3) There is any way to not pay for market data while I'm testing and getting to know better the instruments that I'll trade? In Brazil, we don't pay for market data.

4) And this one is subjective, has anyone used or migrated to/from MotiveWave? What's your opinion? I'm asking this because I'm mainly a Mac user and I would have to use a VM to trade and I would prefer to avoid it if possible.

Thanks!

Fala Brazuca!

1) As far as I know, no you can not.
But there is a very good sneak peak video on their youtube channel, released couple of years ago if I remember correctly, when they released the order flow package, a quick search for "order flow" on NT's youtube

2) Cant help on this one

3) ninjatrader offers a 15days of trial marketdata on their's website.. you have to use one email to receive the login credentials and you are good to go testing..

4) cant help this one either, long time NT user

PM me if you like, glad to help if I can..
(Respondendo em ingles pois a se??o de perguntas foi nesse idioma/Answering in english because site rules)

I can't even send a PM because I just registered at the forum 😅

I would really like to continue trading the DOLFUT and WINFUT at B3 but the rules for non-fiscal residents are just too broken and because of that I was forced to look for another instrument to trade. Initially, I was looking at the DAX due to the trading hours as I'm living in Lisbon but I'll probably end up going to the US market as there are way more instruments and prop trading companies, which is a second goal that I have.

Talking about Ninja, looks like most of the futures traders in the US are using it, right?
Have you been using it for a while? Like it? It's the paid version? Do you use NinjaTrader as your broker too? Any bad experience?

Other than that I have the OS problem as well because I'm using a mac and Ninja requires a Windows machine. This can be solved with a VM but if I could avoid using the VM would be nice, but in the end I just want to solve my problem, so if NinjaTrader works well enough that's all that I need. I quite like MotiveWave but it's just too complicated to start with, lots and lots of plans, then I need to pick a broker, market data, etc... while on Ninja it's everything in house I don't need to care about anything else.

I own a license and I am using NT since NT7 and now I use with ninjabrokerage too. Nothing to complain at all. Actually, plataform/brokerage/marketdata works like a charm, because everything belongs to them, so the integration is smooth.

Right now there is a Beta running in BR between Orama Corretora with NT8 and the marketdata is from Cedro but I have to say, the integration isant perfect.. connection problems, random disconections, lag, and a few other details related to orders that are not 100% yet... but when we talk about USA, as I said, soooooth. Quick connection, quick data loading...

As you were checking out DAX and has WIN/WDO experience, there are quite good chances you will like MNQ/NQ.

About VM, I read here in this forum some threads where users use NT/Mac but as I am a Windows guy, did not paid attention, sorry cant help on this subject..

A couple more posts and you will be able to send PMs..

Yeah, thanks!

I was testing NT using the free data they provide for some days. But being really honest I got sidetracked with MotiveWave that in theory would be the best for me, but in the end I don't want to deal with plugin all providers together, broker and data feed, and dealing with some problems that I saw the community reporting so I got back to NT. Meanwhile the NT and MW tests I gave a look at forex but I feel very uncomfortable trading without volume, so I think that's it. I'll probably buy the NT license this week/next week and start backtesting my strategy there 🤞🏻
