Can someone please recommend an Indicator for NinjaTrader, that will plot Volume Profile on my chart - with the ability to get accurate readings when I have the Volume Profile indicator on various time-frame charts.......... a Daily chart, a Weekly chart and a Monthly chart

When looking at the ( Order Flow VOLUME PROFILE ) Indicator - regarding the ( Profile Period ), do i need to leave it set at 1 ?

I attached some images of the Volume Profile Indicator on various charts - with it "super-imposed" over the chart/candlesticks and then with the Volume Profile indicator plotted on the Right-hand side of the chart

I really appreciate the help
Want to make sure I have the Indicator setup properly, as to get correct readings from the Volume Profile Indicator, no matter what time-frame chart I'm looking at

Thanks so much

Hi. I am not sure I understand what you are asking. Can you be more specific? How do you trade now? (style, holding time, instrument, etc.) How do you expect volume profile to help you? Perhaps if I understood better where you are coming from, I could offer a suggestion that might be helpful. I use volume profile in my day trading of ES.

snowpatrol,
Thank you for your reply

I trade most instruments ( ES, YM, CL, DAX, GC )
I swing trade - holding a position from 2 days all the way to 1 or 2 weeks sometimes

I base entries on Daily, Weekly and Monthly time-frame charts

I'm hoping to use Volume Profile as a means for adding visual strong Support and Resistance levels, used in conjunction with various Pivot Points and Standard Deviations

I want to make sure that if I'm looking at Volume Profile on say a Daily chart, but also on a Weekly chart ( for the same Instrument ) - that the Levels that I'm seeing from Volume Profile on both the Daily and the Weekly charts - that these levels/readings are accurate.
This is why i wasn't sure if I would need to change anything within the ( Order Flow VOLUME PROFILE ) Indicator on NinjaTrader, depending on what time-frame chart I was looking at?

Is there a quick way within the ( Order Flow VOLUME PROFILE ) Indicator to have it overlaid "on top" of the candlesticks vs have it on the right hand side of the chart ( the two ways it is shown via the 4 charts I attached )?

Thank you again for all of your help
I really appreciate it

So are you asking about finding another Volume Profile indicator that will do the same thing as the Order Flow - Volume Profile Indicator that all Lifetime Licenses holders have? Not sure, are you looking to compare the accuracy, and if they aren't accurate....well which one is wrong?

I have a Globex 24-hour Volume Profile on a 30-Minute chart (I can change the time frame to 15-Min, 5-Min, 1-hour, etc. and still have the same Volume profile appear on my chart. using NinjaTrader Order Flow Volume Profile. I also have a weekly Volume Profile .

Using the Order Flow Volume Profile Indicator:

I set my "Profile Type" to "Volume"
I set my "Display Mode" to "Standard"
I just want the 24-hour session as my Volume Profile, so I do the following:
"Profile Period" I set to "Sessions"
"Sessions" I set to "1", so my profile is only one 24-hour session long. And it will show each 24-hour profile (depending on how many days I have loaded). If I want a 2-day Profile I would enter "2" instead, etc.
I set my "Trading Hours" to "CME US Index Futures ETH" ...gives me the Globex 24 hour session for ES.
I set my "Profile Alignment" to "Left"
I set my "Profile width (%)" to "40"...if you want your profile to overlay the entire session use 100.

Weekly Volume Profile? Just set "Profile Period" to "Weeks" and "Sessions to "1". Set your time frame to whatever (hourly, 30-Min, etc.)
Monthly Volume Profile? "Months" and Sessions to "1"
Not sure if this helps.
And I also draw a lot of volume profiles on legs, swings, consolidating areas, etc. using the draw tool Order Flow Volume Profile

travelinman,
super helpful, really appreciate you replying

I attached 3 separate charts - one is of a Daily timeframe chart, another is a Weekly timeframe chart and the other is a Monthly timeframe chart
These are the 3 main timeframes I look at when trading, and I'm trying to figure out what settings I need to set the Volume Profile to, in order to get accurate readings for each of these 3 timeframes

Or, will I get correct readings on all 3 timeframes by leaving the Volume Profile as it is ( it's default settings )?

Thank you again
