ACSIL and "Add Symbol Study"

I have a chart of MES. I have added the “Add Additional Symbol” study to the chart in order to access the S&P Advancing issues.

This is how I have it set up in ACSIL:

SCGraphData SPADVSubgraph;
SCFloatArrayRef SPADV = SPADVSubgraph[0];

sc.GetStudyArraysFromChart(1, 8, SPADVSubgraph);
SPADV = SPADVSubgraph[0];

currentSPADV = SPADV[sc.Index];

It works, but I can only get the OPEN number. I need to monitor the number as it changes, so I need LAST.

I’ve spent the past hour or so reading through SC docs trying to figure it out with no luck.

Currently reading about the Price Overlay Study, but not sure if that will work or not.

Any ACSIL coders our there who can point me in the right direction?

Ah, okay. I can see how that works now. I went at it a different way and got it worked out, but will keep this in mind for the future. Thanks for your response.

@bobwest

Please note the link posted by Brad was truncated by the forum software.

This "#scGetChartBaseData" should have been included at the end of that link.

This has happened to links I have posted, as well.

I've noticed the only way to keep links like that intact, is to highlight text and use the "Insert Link" button. Doing it that way preserves the entire link.

Just passing it along.

Those playing at home, here is how to get the Correct Documentation (thanks to @ondafringe for pointing out the issue with truncated links).

Go to this page : https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ACSIL_Members_Functions.html and search on the page (Ctrl-F) for sc.GetChartBaseData()

Even my shortened bit.ly link ends up getting truncated.

@ondafringe,

Thanks. The best way to report this is to make a post in the changelog thread, which is @Big Mike's thread to log changes he has made and suggestions members have, and for bug reports.

Obviously, there is a prioritizing process, but this will get it into the queue:
