Are you using VIX or any other indicator, as a filter when to turn on or off your trading system?

Are you using VIX or any other indicator, as a filter when to turn on or off your trading system?

VIX is based on the S&P, so maybe useful for such markets, or for stocks that have high correlation with the S&P.
As for "any other indicator", yes. My trades are based on various indicators evaluating each bar then saying yes or no.
But how to use them depends on your strategies.
