NinjaTrader market data provided by brokers

I have a question regarding NinjaTrader brokers market data. This question is for anyone using NT and getting their data via their broker.

Specifically I would like to know which broker people use with NT and if they are happy with the quantity and quality of the market data they get with that broker?

I am looking for the following market data:
- basic future contract like minis and micros, metals, oil, etc...
- options on the above futures
- basic indices data (DJ, NASDAQ comp and 100, S&P etc...)
- and ideally stock data as well to compute some custom indicators - thought that wish seems unrealistic with NT...

I am currently using the following 2 platforms:
- TradeStation (great platform with good and cheap market data - essentially free).
- IB TWS (average platform with reasonable market data - $20 per month)

I would like to switch to NinjaTrader because I have a lot of experience creating indicators and automated strategy and love writing code in C#. So on paper NT would be a dream for me.
But after spending many days looking at their web site, searching the internet and testing their NT8 platform, I am even more confused then when I started.

Remark: I am not planning on getting a dedicated data provider for cost reason. Therefore I am trying to focus on market data provided by brokers.

Am I missing something here - is the market data information provided by NT brokers available online?

Can anyone using NT share with us their experience regarding the market data they get from their brokers?

Thank you very much

I got this list from NT - somewhat useful so I am sharing it with others

// ninjatrader.com / support / helpGuides / nt8 / ?data_by_provider.htm (remove the spaces obviously)

As you can see the list does not talk about the new NinjaTrader brokerage - though they probably use CQG or continuum (also CQG).
But it would be nice to clarify this.

The list is also misleading - for instance it says with IB you get E(O) (equity option) but in reality many feature will not work - like displaying an option chain for E(O).
For F(O) - no Greeks are displayed either in the option chain.

I still like NT a lot - I just do not understand why basic information like these:
- what type of data is available
- what features do not work based on the data (like order flow not working due to lack of level 2 data)
- what features do not work based on the technical constrains like not being able to display option chain, etc...

are not readily available in order to make an inform decision about NT.

Hi, If I purchased NinjaTrader CMEGROUP market data, do I still need to purchase kinetic live data?

Blessed Trading,

Only if the current data you have subscribed to does not support the ticker you want to trade.

The cheapest NT option, CQG, supports most Futures.
Kinitick supports equities also L1.

If you want good quality futures data, you can use the L1 CQG continuum from NT.
It's 4 dollars or something. Very good quality.

I didn't really see anyone trading options on NT.
I once tried options using the data feed from IB, I found it 'Clunky' and awkward.
NT really excels at straight up futures trading.
