Need Help With Ninjatrader Platform And Trading In General
I've been watching and now need to execute, I need help learning ho to place trades within the platform Ninjatrader. Is there anyone that can help me or I can shadow or even point me in the right direction. I don't want to just place market orders all the whether buying or selling, I need to learn and know how to place limit orders and even place order entries before the market hits my target entry and exit trade. I been looking to trade now and want to go to the next level, HELP! Name is Fred and I welcome anyone that has time and willing to help or direct me to learning!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
My advice is to slow down! The fastest way to drain your trading account is to be in a hurry. Trust me on this.
First, learn the NT platform by going though the numerous training materials and You Tube videos that are available. Practice the different ways to place trades in your simulator account to discover what works best for you. You probably want to learn to use the ATM feature in NT8. Give yourself plenty of time to do this, the markets will be there when you are ready.
Once you have spent time learning the platform, then you need to develop a trade plan and a trade strategy that includes a risk management plan (loss limits on trades, on the day, on the week, etc.). Browse Futures IO learn about these topics. I will repeat, give yourself plenty of time to do this.
As you are practicing in your simulator, start keeping a written journal of what works and what does not work. There are lots of good examples of journals on Futures IO.
You should not trade a live account (real money) until you can follow your plan and adhere to your risk limits consistently in the simulator. If you feel like you have to trade live to get the "feel" of the market, stick to micro contracts.
Thank you for your help! I appreciate guiding me in the right direction, is there anyone I can connect with and shadow and see them trade I would really appreciate any help with that from anyone willing! My name is Fred, thanks in advance!
what happens if I am in a live ATM trade and my computer crashes. Will an ATM stop be triggered if my computer is disabled from the crash...???
What happens if I am in a live trade with no stops and computer fails. Is there a trading desk that I can call to get out of the trade I am in but have no control over. ??? Or is it just unlimited liability???
One last question: Assume I am in a live trade and my desktop crashes, can I them use NT8 installed on my laptop to manage the trade or will I get the error...only one version of continuum can be open at one time.
I have a sticky note with the emergency desk phone number and my account number taped to one of my monitors,
I have them also on speed dial on my phone, including account number.
I only had to call in once so far, but man was I happy I had their number handy
