Hello! New to the forum and it looks great. I don't normally do this, but is there anyone who trades ES/MES during Asia session that could help me out? I don't want you to tell me your strategy because I want to work it out for myself but I just want to pick your brains with a couple of questions.

Perhaps you should start by asking some questions or explaining what your are doing or explain what you are trying to do.

You're right, that's probably a good idea to actually ask the questions..

Long-story short - I've recently moved into MES futures from FX CFDs as scalping seems to fit my personality better. However, I'm struggling to work out what tick chart number is best suited for the Asia session / low volatility.

I've been following a guy in the US who trades on a 2,000 tick chart, but I can't help but wonder if a quicker tick chart would be better suited toward the Asia session where there's lower volatility or if it doesn't matter? Would love to hear the opinion of someone who's actually profitable during the Asia session.

I also want to know what their view is of the Asia session vs the US session - is it worth trading during the Asia session or wait till the London open? I've had mixed results during the Asia session, found London open very difficult but then 1hr + after London open it seems to be ok. But again, I'm not sure whether this is due to market behavior or my tick chart settings.

One more thing - I do use the DOM but mainly use chart for visualization.

Any advice from someone who (profitably) trades the Asia session would be greatly appreciated.

i rarely trade the night session. im up all night tonight because well i slept in all weekend which is unusual but i just felt like i needed a me weekend. im paying the price now.
I am long nq and earlier was long the russell. what i have seen at night is the mkt rarly reverts it is usually a markup or a mark down phase based on what trades were done intraday which we a have no idea but a guess.

If i was going to trade the asia hours and i was a scalper.. i would be trading asia the hang seng micro or the nikkei micro a euro pean dax micro. to scalp you need support and resist and lots of volume to build support and resist overnight es is prett illiquid in my opinion for scalping but YOU need to do what suits you.

2000 tick
200 tick
2 tick chart..

just trade what it is showing you
good luck im sure other people who trade the overnight way more than me can give you way more insight. i talk like i am always right or know it all but i do not that is just me
making sure that i beleive in my self and my views when i make trades.

happy trading

I don't trade the Asian session, but I trade the European session and I don't use tick-charts (since years), but if I would trade the MES, I always would chart the ES.

For me the first hour of the European session (2 am CT) is a great time (you said in your opinion it is difficult) to trade the ES/MES because I just have to watch what the FDAX is doing and trade the ES in the same direction.
