it seems my ninjatrader platform is slightly out of sync with my IB platorm. When i look at the 1m chart for example in IB a bar might close on the high of the bar but in NT is a tick off. I have been syncing my laptop clock every day before i connect IB to NT but it is still slightly off it seems.
Any users out there know of a way to solve this?
Thanks, any help is much appreciated!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Roller, this will not solve the problem, but might help you nail it down. Set up small tic charts side by side and
any difference will be easily spotted.
Are you using the IB Gateway to connect to NT?
Have you printed /logged the min/sec on both platforms?
Anyways, 1Tick... difference, I would call it slippage
I‘m using IB Gateway and there are way more bigger issues than this.
Hi @roller, in your case, does NT use both historical and live data from IB?
In NT, I'm using live data from IB and historical data from Kinetic. On the side I also have live data from Rithmic, which often gives a tick difference in price (on ES). Not sure who's right and who's wrong...
It turns out i had the problem half solved... i was under the impression that IB uses exchange time for it's charts, so i was syncing the computer clock while IB was open. If i do it before i open either NT or IB the issue seems to be resolved.
Although this morning when connecting and loading the JNM 06-21 chart from IB i am getting issues again, slightly different now.. NT seems to be combining price movements and volume data over a few bars and then combining them into a single bar so the price range and volume amounts are incorrect. It also took a lot (10x) as long to load the chart data from the overnight session. I restarted computer, exited NT and IB numerous times but still the issue.
I'm using TWS for streaming the data and IB for historical data.
i'm only sim trading at this stage and getting used to the platform so sorry about the newb issues!
