Notifications don't actually lead where you think they would
If notifications in the upper right corner say you've been quoted, or mentioned or whatnot, shouldn't they lead to somewhere you can view those quotes? They go to my user profile, but the only two links are my posts and threads I've started, not posts where I've been quoted. The notification links should go to user control panel not profile.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I am quoting your message above: this should give you the notification which, if clicked, should point right at the "Quotes" section in your profile. In there you should be able to click on the relevant message, which will take you straight where you were quoted.
Note, that section shows both other users quoting you and you quoting other users. In the screenshot I have highlighted in yellow other users quoting you. If you click on the post hyperlink it will take you there.
I think this is correct. I just checked my notifications, and the Post Quotes sent me to a list of post quotes, the New Mentions sent me to a list of mentions, as expected.
I believe that a change was made at some point regarding non-Elite members, and this was also affected. It has worked fine for me all along (I check mine daily.)
I don't recall now what the change was at the time (assuming I'm right about there being one), nor whether it makes sense for it to affect the notifications.
Bob.
