Just found this out and posting for other SC users who may not be aware of this change.
I've been using the free version of SC Package 3 through AMP for the past year and a half.
SC is doing away with all that. No more free packages through brokers. No more billing for the software at all through brokers. We will now have to fund an account at SC to pay for the use of their software. This will all happen by the end of March, 2021.
If you use Denali and Package 3, as I do, your cost will go from $20/month up to $36/month. Although, they said that price may come down a little once everything is finalized.
Is it end of March? I got the impression it was starting from 1st March
Also I belive if you were on the standard package 3 you will only be paying $28 p/m
Because the Amp freeloaders get it for nothing. Everyone else knows this and keeps harassing Sierra for discounts. Sierra got the shits with the beggars wanting a good platform for next to nothing and are standardising the structure.
I'm not a beggar or a freeloader... and I don't appreciate your insult. What happened to the name-calling rule around here?
AMP provided SC to me as a perk, as they did with others. SC agreed to it to get more traders using their software. None of us begged AMP or SC to do that. They did it because it was beneficial to them. And when you're first starting out, those were good perks to have as it kept your costs down while you were learning.
And I have no problem with what they are doing, other than I now have to keep money at two different places.
As I understand it, the increase will initially come out of your broker account starting, I think, today. On or about April 1st., you will have to keep an SC account funded.
Since you're getting a different price than they quoted me, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Same here. I've had AMP for over five years, and ninjatrader 7 liftetime since 2013. Just the past two years I also requested using SC for free on AMP with the CQG feed. Now, I wonder if I have to change to the denali feed and am also waiting to see what the overall cost will be to use SC on package 3 with AMP. SC is now shutoff from my AMP account, but I can still use the CQG feed with my nt7 since it's grandfathered for licences earlier than some date, but I don't know if changing to denali will end that too.
Same boat here, if I understand correctly from hereon the fees are:
SC level 3 $26 + (Denali $10 + CME fees $3.25 or $10.40 depends on you want top of book or depth as well). The Denali is optional but highly recommended over the CQG (unless you need eurex then it is mandatory). If you stay with CQG then you don't need to pay Denali and CME will continue to be billed by AMP. You can also setup subaccounts so one use Ninja/CQG (so pay CME fee only) and another use SC (and pay fees as above). That's what I get anyway from reading their as usual very helpful notices . Is your SC deactivated immediately because you didn't log in between Mar 1-3?
This whole change has been handled poorly by all concerned.
From what I understand, you can use SC Package 3 w/o Denali, but you will now have to pay SC directly for the use of their software, and you will have to use an SC-supported data feed (I *think* they still support CQG).
For SC Package 3 with Denali (now Package 10), they quoted me $36/month, but AMP just pulled $32 today for the month of March. Not sure why it's less than the quote. Guess I'll have to wait until the April billing from SC to find out.
