Good morning everyone,

This is my first or second post and I wanted to share with you some of the issues I'm having with excel formulas creating my BASIC tracking journal for JUST stocks with a swing/day trading type of layout.

Most cells work. But I'm seeing some errors that I can't seem to figure out.

Follow along here: Mikes Trading Log .xlsx

Maybe someone could answer these questions without blinking an eye.

I have searched, experimented, and messed around myself for 2 days with no luck.

Prior to deciding to start building my trade plan and journal, I realized my excel experience was severely lacking.

Therefore I have been practicing and working on that and I also attached a very simple basic single journal entry to see why some of my cells arent working properly.

At this point, I'm even willing to pay someone a few dollars in order to get this over with.

This started as a forex spreadsheet too so under Currency pairs I really need that to be "tickers" but am getting errors when I try to do so.

I hope this is not a horrible first post I have looked and googled and tried to do this myself. I am even a web developer for a living I just don't know excel.

Also I notice some excel templates for trading journals use a ratio for the expectancy which is odd I'm used to seeing and reading it as a percentage.

Michael

I'm also getting quite frustrated with these TRADERSYSNC like companies because they don't include the most important metrics for a day/swing trader.... Some of them but not all. I don't even see expectancy on tradersync it seems ridiculous. I could be entirely wrong but that's what it seems like.

First I will attach the file again. Then I will explain where I am confused.

Mikes Trading Log .xlsx

Like I said I AM willing to pay for a little help here. I am not asking for anyone to use their time for free. I find all these journal templates out there but in one way or another they are lacking or created for forex and other types of trading. I just need a simple one for stocks so I can track my expectancy and other info.....

So far here are the trouble areas for me:

For example what do they mean a 0:1 ratio? It should be 2:1 no? Also they made a column for "#" and I am trying to figure out what that was for on the template by looking at the code.

Here is the code I have been working on based off the template I was customizing. It is much easier to see on the file itself but I also included some crappy thumbnails just to provide a visual.

I found one of the solutions.... I found the answer to the ratio issue for risk. I was just entering the $ .50 value for the stop loss instead of the actual stop price which in this case was 24.50. Obviously, these stats are made up.

If apple was that cheap I would buy all of it!
