Guys, I'm at a bit of a crossroads right now,

I've been a struggling trader since 2018.
Day traded CL for 2 years, blew out 3 accounts totaling $10k before realizing day trading crude is a death wish.

Late last year a good friend of mine who is successful told me to switch to ES and this is what I've been trading ever since and loving it. I'm still not consistent but I'm getting there.

I have never been one to use indicators.
Not even an EMA.
Just price action and price action alone.
I day trade primarily using the 1 and 4 hour charts looking for areas of supply and demand (S/R basically)

I met another guy through a mutual friend who swears by order flow and suggested I try out Bookmap.

So far I've been trading it with on SIM for 2 weeks and the learning curve has been immense.
I feel like I've only touched the tip of the iceberg.

So let me ask you guys who have had experience trading order flow... is the hype worth it ?
Especially with Bookmap. I will say the visualization is stunning.

I feel like I've almost like I've entered the matrix coming from my candles. But still. It is by no means a crystal ball and I have CERTAINLY yet to master it... it's going to take me at least 6 months in my opinion to get good at it if I decide to continue.

So for those who have experience with Bookmap/Jigsaw/etc. and based on what I wrote... is it worth it?

Thanks for reading
Mike

I think it's worth it anytime you can get more info in a new perspective. The combination of price action and order flow analysis can be powerful...

Yes well I have been trying to trade with BM (maybe not hard enough? it's only been 2 weeks) and it basically just feels like my candlesticks but with super cool graphics. All the volume dots, the heatmap, etc.

But it doesn't predict the future.
Then again BM doesn't claim it does.

Maybe I need to give it more time. I'm looking for answers from people who actually have experience with order flow and preferably not scalpers. I can see how OF can be particularly useful for that, but I aim for relatively big price swings during the day - 15-20 points on average.
