I found that centrepoint and speedtrader brokers offer very good commission for active stock day traders (0.0004/per share and less). The only thing is, that the trader will be pushed to use Das Trader Pro (for 120$/month). Lightspeed is also an option and is under the consideration, but it is the stuff for another topic.

The platform itself is quick (regardless the design from 90x, but now i'm looking at it as it is a part of job). The functionality can be easily covered with the phrase "only the most requirement".

The thing is, that the platform does not provide:

* DOM/SuperDOM trader (which i'm used to have). it's possible to add quick buying from level 2 montage, but it is not the same
* heatmap (like BootMap or Quantower or NinjaTrader or SierraCharts) which is nice to have

But gives nice customizable hot keys.

Anyway, the question is if there is something better?

Thank you!

Hi kvokka, The answer to your question is yes there are many better, excluding customization keys.

The answer to what platform provides DAS customization of hot keys and the other things that DAS does not provide is nothing provides the customization of hot keys that DAS provides.

Hi Skistr

DAS jey customisation is just great, no questions.
Plus it give the ability to select the route for the order (which most of the platforms do not) and knows, that there are not only Market and Limit orders, cos MIT and SLM orders are useful too.

But is there any better? Since my trading style assumes more than 100 trades in a day, this is important for me.

I just don't believe that it is a only tool which provides it (ok, TWS from IB also gives it, but i'll try to be polite and just say that it is not very good for active day trader).

Thank you!

Hello,

I have the same question. IB TWS is just not easy to use to speed trade. It lacks on many fields. Futures trading it's rather complicated and inefficient. It can't work for scalping fast moving markets. There are so many issues...
The unmatched feature that IB asa broker has... it covers many markets and you don't need separate accounts for futures, stock or forex CFDs. You can just go right ahead and trad whatever you want from the same account. Where as TS for example, won't do (anyway for EU nationals not available anymore) (by the way I considered them as an option before Brexit)
I hope to resolve them with a platform.
I looked at Sierra Charts but I got scared away only by reading the introduction they made for IB TWS users...

Did you find a reliable platform to serve both stocks and futures?

Thanx

Atm i feel, that i tried everything available on the market, and feel that the only option is DAS. I hate to admit it, but all other stuff just does not allow to trade quickly.
The sucks is that at least in theory it is possible to add DOM trader to das, cos they provide API access, but it costs extra 100$/month with minimal throughput. So if you attach it, the entire payments for the software will be big (ok, DAS trader platform fee will be waved when u trade 200k+ shares month, which is not a problem for a scalper, but anyway, there is no production ready software which supports DAS api on the market. at least i did not find. if you found something - pls, share it with me)

A couple weeks ago i tried eSignal (trial cost me 240$ for a month, and after cancelling i'll return only 140 of my payment. free trial, kek). Charts themselves are good, but there is no way to connect it with centrepoint and others. and pay 240$ per month just for charts- for me it's too much. Thade trough it is not ideal (it have a few bugs in it, and l2 can hang)

Atm i'm thinking about writing my own interface for DAS and paying for DAS api. (another option is to wait until quantower will be usable for trading stocks, but idk when it happen. atm i'm in close collaboration with the development team and they are working on it. it's just not there yet, but it is very promising beast)

NinjaTrader is the best and your lifetime license compared to DAS is much much less expensive over time. I own QT and MW and went to NT. MW will cost you yearly fees, QT will add features and ask you to pay if you want them. I have lifetime license for both. NinjaTrader has the features I need. Remember NT data is free and with TD Ameritrade you get stock data. NT is a no brainer if you take the time to test and I have. Unfortunately you cannot test if you don’t own, except for NT. … yep the list just goes on and on. I have a lot of good things to say about MotiveWave5 with Amp and hole an account with them.
