Hello,

I've been sim trading the ES mini and ES micro for some time now but I struggle to get break even.

I'm Dutch and learning to trade after my work, for me that's 6pm to 10pm. That's 12 pm to 4pm ET so basically afternoon session.

My strategy is channel or range trading in the trend direction.

I was wondering if the Micro/mini Nasdaq futures would also be useful to me because some days the ES does not move much in the afternoon session and the Nasdaq is moving more it seems.

Does anyone recommend switching to Nasdaq futures for more trading opportunities? (Or are there strategies that work better on ES and visa versa)
Or does someone know a similar instrument to trade at those times which have good volume at those trading times?

Thanks*in*advance!

Imo trading outside of normal trading hours is bad idea becauae lack of participants is bad idea.. Trade the hong kong futures. MHI has real good volume... Or Australian futures, dax can be another option.

has nothing to do with your mkt or your trading time, anyone who blames breaking even or losing on time of day or night wiht the pure
amt of liquidity available is not really trading successfully themselves.
try trading the russel 200o it moves a little slower usually and has a much nicer tick size for getting filled.

it does not follow the other indexes all that closely so you should trade it independently of the es and nq. this is a bonus for the russel.

keep at it. if breaking even you are
1. not holding winners long enough
2. taking too many trades

try increasing your hold times and come up with an exit strategy that is mechanical not oh im up..im out
