Hey guys,

I am running a trial of MC and trying to accesses as many functions as possible so I can get an understanding of the software and evaluate if I should buy it or not.

Below is something I am having issue with. I have my initial Stop-loss at 0.6% away from my entry price.
Once the profit of my position hits 50pts I would like to move the Stop-loss to my entry price.
Would be awesome if someone could help me on how to go about codeing this logic.

Thanks and regards,
Fudge

Hi!

Can you share your current code so we can help?

Also, on MultiCharts, my experience is as follows:

- I use it, exclusively, for my algo trading and really like it. I've been using it for a year now. I've had some issues during that year from not understanding it as well as I should have when I started, but then found someone to teach me how to overcome them.
- If you want to use EasyLanguage, you only really have the choice between TradeStation and MultiCharts (AFAIK).
- Both are excellent, while at the same time, both have issues and things that will frustrate you, but that's a natural part of algo trading
- I know several extremely successful algo traders who use MultiCharts either as their only platform, or alongside TS.
- MC support is excellent, if you ever need them
- The big advantage of TradeStation is that it's tied to the TradeStation brokerage account so some parts of setup are more straightforward. The big advantage of MC is that it isn't, and you can use it with multiple accounts
- TS uses TS price data; for MC you need to purchase, or find, price data. I use DTN's excellent IQFeed; it costs, but you pay for reliability and accuracy, and great support.

Hope this helps! Share your exit code and I'll see if I can help, and I'm sure it'll make it more likely that others here lend a hand.

James
