Hi,
So since the pandemic started the margin rates for futures on Tradestation has been extremely high (https://www.tradestation.com:443/pricing/futures-margin-requirements/).

Does anybody care to guess when they might go back to more normal levels?

Hi @Prophet85

I dont use TS so this is a educated guess on what I am seeing other brokers doing; Based on the volatility in the markets and the pandemic plus elections coming up, it will probably wont be till next year at the earliest. However, if I were going to place a wager then my gut says not till 2022 or later. By then (hopefully) the economy will back up at full strength and this pandemic stuff will be behind us.

Thank you for your input, and yeah you are probably right about sometime next year or the year after that.

The broker you use have margins these high though? I haven't seen any other brokers with margins these high albeit I haven't looked around that my much.

Alright guys, please disregard this. I just realized that TS margins are the same as the margins set by the exchange. For some reason I thought they were higher than the margins set by the exchange which is wrong. My bad!
