Long time reader, first time poster...

I got an email overnight from IB saying they were no longer supporting Mini Sized NY Silver and Gold Futures. That's fine for gold since I already use /MGC, but is anyone aware of another mini-silver product or maybe there is one being developed?

"IBKR will no longer support trading in these contracts due to low open interest, which results in difficulty in closing out positions in these physically delivered products. Contracts that are currently listed for trading will be placed in "closing only" and no additional contracts will be added."

Isn't SIL a micro silver? (1000oz vs QI/Emini 2500oz & SI 5000oz)

I trade the 1,000oz micro SIL contract at CME.

At IB the symbol is SI and you need to change the multiplier from 5,000 to 1,000.

Thank you both - yes I was referring to the micro Silver contract at IB.

Looking at the 2,500 oz contract, looks like potentially even lower volumes than SIL?

Is there a way to actually change the multiplier in IB for /SI? I figured it was just a set contract amount

For a small number of markets IB uses the same symbol for the big and mini/micro contracts. For silver they use SI for both the regular SI contract and the micro SIL contract.

The multiplier can be changed on the contract selection screen using the drop down.
