Hi guys first post in this community looking to learn from y'all and to contribute as well. I have spent most of my futures trading career about 10 on TOS, my trading style is mostly seasonal spreads and swing trades.

TOS has been good to me but I am now looking to day trade/scalp more. So I have been researching trading order flow off a DOM. It seems like TT is used by many pro traders but when I look at Jigsaw's DOM features there seems to be more features( are these features really helpful?).

Can anybody offer any insight on which platform would be ideal for DOM/order flow type trading.

Thanks everyone!

Your initial impressions are correct. The big advantage that TT has is high quality data. There's also the autospreader if you pay for the $400/mo package ( https://www.tradingtechnologies.com/resources/pricing/ ). Jigsaw has the best overall DOM out there. The Sierra Charts DOM is also acceptable.

Wrong. Jigsaw does not have the best overall DOM.

I've used both TT, Jigsaw, CTS T4, CQG for an extended amount of time.

TT for sure is better on the data side, it is also coded much better than Jigsaw which is very buggy, shamefully buggy. TT is far more streamliend on the design UI/UX side, speed, robustness and offers far more flexibility. You can grow into your trading and add a lot of complexity and techniques with TT that you cannot with Jigsaw.

Jigsaw is the Sierra Charts of DOMs-- Offers a lot of things DOMwise, but not well executed. Now that Sierra has stolen everything from Jigsaw, it might be the better platform to choose.

The biggest selling point of Jigsaw is on the free education end, not the silly market prints which are quite useless and become nothing more than a parlor trick after you have used DOM.

Jigsaw is basically just the best retail amateur trader order execution platform, but I wouldn't dare call it a professional platform by any standard. Way too many issues, not enough useful features.
So, if you are stuck on rithmic and you need just a DOM, then Jigsaw is best only in that narrow narrow narrow narrow use case.

If you can use a variety of data providers and if you are willing to pay a bit more, then I would say TT, CQG and CTS T4 are professional platforms. For sure if you are also a spreader, then use those professional platforms.

If you need charting, to save money, and other tools in one platform, then just use Sierra Charts. Sure it throws everything in one package done with a bit of a 'college try' but it is far more complete than Jigsaw.
