I've been trialing various platforms (switching out of TOS/TS) and have started to narrow my focus to Sierra, NT and Motivewave. Still oscillating around a bunch but these three seem to be taking hold.
There have been some good threads comparing Sierra to NT and it seems a common concern regarding Ninja Trader is resource utilization as well as some issues with speed and possible crashing. At least this is what I am interpreting as a common concern.
Specifically, it seems that a lot of the posts regarding concerns with NT8 were around the 2018 time frame.
Does anyone have updated perspective on what is going on with NT8 now? How is the platform handling the recent increased volumes and speed of market and have some of the earlier issues that people raised with NT8 early on improved upon?
Thanks
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I have been using NT8 for a while and for what it offers it is good and i don't have much issues. If you code the indicators correctly you wont see any issues either. Their customer service is good too, will get back to you in a timely manner.
if you use Market Profile/TPO charts you definitely want to look at Sierra, as it has more features compared to the basic TPO chart offered by NT. (this is my only complaint..............they said that they will enhance it, but don't give you a time line...........it might take months or years or go buy an indicator from their vendors). If you go with Sierra and you wont be wrong. Data provided through Denali i think on SC also provides full market dept which is excellent. I myself have not use SC, but these advantages were shown to me by a friend of mine and if NT does not enhance TPO chart in a timely manner i might switch to SC shortly.
Give people a chance to reply. Your post had only been up for a day.
The latest version of NT8 is the most stable yet. There were many, many frustrations with some of the earlier builds but it appears they have mostly been sorted. The only issue some users have is the slow but sure increase in memory usage that can occur if NT is up and running for long periods of time, especially if you are doing lots of chart building, indicators adds, removals etc.
Other than that, I have had nothing to grumble about for quite a while now. NinjaTrader customer service has always been really great.
