Yesterday I received a message from TST informing me that they would stop accepting sierra as a platform to trade under the trading combine.
As far as I understood, the new versions of Sierra will not be compatible with Rithmic datafeed, and since TST partnered with Rithmic they cannot offer Sierrachart anymore.
Apprently you can still trade with old versions of Sierrachart, that still support Rithmic datafeed.
I was really shocked by the email I received from TST, since my style of trading highly depends on Sierrachart.
I am still not sure if there is any way to still use Sierra for the futurfor the TST combine.
Below the message I received from TST:
Since wee first partnered with Rithmic Data Feeds, Topstep has always offered integration with Sierra Charts (SC). Unfortunately, starting tomorrow, Thursday, January 30, Sierra Charts will no longer be supporting Rithmic Data Feeds.
SC will not be accepting new users after tomorrow, however, older versions of SC will still be available to existing users (v.2037 and earlier), but SC will no longer be providing technical support for them.
If you decide not to continue with an older version of SC, you will be required to choose a new platform and data package from Topsteps List of Supported Platforms.
We understand this change is sudden, and we do apologize for the short notice. If you wish to install an older version of SC, you can find help doing so on this page. Please contact [email protected] with any other questions.
Thank you for your understanding,
The TopstepTrader Team
I investigated further in the subject and apparently Sierra is progressively getting rid of all the datafeed that were not collaborative with them in terms of API integration etc... Did you notice that INFINITY FUTURES removed all the youtube videos that mentioned Sierra? Infinity use to praise sierrachart as a stable and fast platform and now they don't even mention it.
My understanding is that SierraChart realized they have a superior product, and they are now in a position to "force" user to use their own datafeed.
