Can someone advise me on best low fee ISA share dealing platform (company) which would have access to US stock market as well as UK one? I would like to build up a long term dividend portfolio and keep it under ISA with possibly low annual and dealing fee.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I'm with Hargreaves and Landsdown, a UK broker. They charge £12 per trade and I have an ISA. They have low fees but do charge a fx fee. I'm new and have chosen them as a safe bet, as they are fully regulated by the FCA and your funds are protected. HL is also well known here.
You can read more about them and their prices on their website. However, as I'm trying to do more trades on the US market the £12 plus the fx fee adds up. You should do a search for UK brookers. The closest I've come across to moving over is to Degiro - a Dutch broker. I would stay away from zero commission brokers suchs as Freetrade and the likes as the don't execute your order straight away but aggregrate them once for 3 pm execution. I'm not sure how it works, but you should always read the terms and conditions and Execution Policy. You have to give up something in order to get something. Here in the UK there's not much of a choice, the US is bigger and they have less regulation on marketing and the likes and can offer better deals to retail investors, which is regulated stringently here by the EU, hence mediocre offers.
I have used https://www.x-o.co.uk//
For just under 6 pound execution only charge.
No other fees. They only trade uk shares though.
But maybe worth a look .
