Hello everybody
I’m new in trading and I have a couple of silly questions, hope you can help me.
I’m about to get the Jigsaw trading platform, do I need to purchase NinjaTrader as well or it can run without it?
Are CQG and Rhitmic the data providers? Because I can see I’ll have to pay monthly.
I’m just a bit confused about the all process of getting started, brokerage account, data providers etc
Could you please explain me how this process works?
Thank you for your time and sorry for the silly questions.

Hi Edclap and welcome.

No, you do not need to purchase NinjaTrader to use with Jigsaw, for two reasons:

1) Jigsaw has its own standalone trading interface
2) If you want charts, you can use NinjaTrader for free for the charts and use Jigsaw for order flow

CQG and Rithmitc are data providers. I use CQG (which for NinjaTrader is rebranded as Continuum) to get the market data feed to both NT and Jigsaw platforms.

Basically the most direct route for anyone wanting to open a trading account is a) submit application b) once approved deposit some funds c) select a trading platform and data feed (the fees will be subtracted monthly from your account).

There are a few great brokers that participate in this forum and I would encourage you to check several FIO threads and ask specific questions to get the answers you need.

Good luck!

Curious if you got Jigsaw set up snd how it's all going. I really like the order flow concept but I'm too clueless SO FAR to pull the Jigsaw trigger.

This is interesting stuff for us.

We created the first bit of software, a Ninja plug in back in 2011. Even though it's just one of many supported feeds/platforms now - we can't seem to shake that off! Everyone still thinks it needs Ninja!

So, all it needs is Jigsaw and CQG/Ritmic to place positions in futures market?!!??

However...to place orders through JS there is a $50/ month subscription fee. FYI.
