Hey guys, I'm new here to the site. I'm excited to be a part of the community and get in on some discussions!

My question is about making an automated system on Sierra Chart, either in ACSIL or using spreadsheets, that executes orders based on reversal bars. I want to make a program (or find one that is all ready made) that executes orders after the price has gone in one direction x amount of ticks, then reverses y amount of ticks.

Firstly, I was hoping that I could find the code for the reversal bars (by tick) so that I could create a study based off of it. Is there somewhere where I can find the code for the reversal bars (by tick)? I looked in the /ACS_Source folder and opened up all of the "studies" files (1 through 8), the "example" files and a couple of others, but I couldn't find anything for reversal bars.

Secondly, would this even be the right approach? Is there an easier way to do what I am trying to do? For example, is there all ready some code made for a renko-reversal system that is similar to what I am looking to do etc?

Lastly, are there any good tutorials that people know of for getting to know the common functions in ACSIL?

Lots of questions I know, but I just thought I would put it out there and see if I get any responses.

Thanks a bunch

Yes there is an easy way to do this with Spreadsheet System for Trading using Renko bars.
In the Spreadsheet System for Trading in Cell K3 for Buy Entry Reversals
put this Formula =AND(AA4>E4,E3>AA4)
For Sell Entry Reversals in Cell M3 put this formula =AND(AA4<E4,E3<AA4)
You can also add the Indicator Renko Visual Open/Close along with-
Either EMA or SMA settings of a Range between 5 or 6.
This should help you get started also you can set the Spreadsheet to give a Visual Signal like Arrows and Sound.
If you would like to learn more there is more info here on this site, as well as others that know much more pertaining

Hey thanks so much! That is really helpful information! I will start messing around with these settings and see what I can come up with.
