I am based in the UK and I have had a general interest in trading for a few years and probably like most have bought a few books and taken some courses. In the past I have tried trading CFD’s as you can use a smaller account without having to adhere to PDT requirements.
About 18 months ago, I had to take medical retirement due to a permanent serious illness and decided to spend time studying trading to keep mentally active. Having subscribed to BMT, I started to learn Futures Trading, specifically the ES, and started to following Mack’s Price Action Trading method. I am also studying, albeit more slowly, Al Brook’s work, which is incredibly detailed, but I think is the gold standard for price action style trading. I have been trading live for a while now and generally trade one or two contracts for a scalp of 1 point on each trade.
Although, I am trading what may be described as full time, I am not trading for a living. I find trading fascinating and enjoy it tremendously, particularly the studying required to improve. Any money I can make is a welcome bonus but it is not what motivates me to trade.
