Hi,

I am relatively new to using Volume Profile, although Ive known about it for awhile. The logical thing to me is to look for support/resistance at low volume nodes (LVNs). However I also see reversals at HVNs. How you you all use the 2 levels? It seems like it may depend on the time period, and current vs past profile.

Hi aotc

Are you asking this question in relation to a specific product/market or is it generalized?

I would take the HVN as support/resistance and the LVN as an area where it can trade thru fast

I would take them as boundaries of value areas....use them for context.

I am asking in general how people use them, but I'm also curious to hear product specific ideas.

Hey @aotc!

Here's an example from FT71's twitter showing how he's using composite market-profile HVNs/LVNs to show acceptance and rejection of price over time. Slightly different than volume-profile which you originally asked about but these tools are used in very similar fashion:

Trade well!
