Let's say you have a Window on NT8 with a bunch of charts and they are linked to the same instrument (orange).
Let's say you then click on something else linked to orange.
Then you often see "loading..." (of data).. as opposed to (calculating).. sometimes you just see calculating.. I assume loading happens when you haven't visited that chart in a while.
I'm wondering is it possible to set up something that constantly needs to query the data... say a market analyzer - so that the data will already be loaded and doesn't need to be downloaded? Or do I misunderstand what "loading" is?
I do use a market analyzer to switch among various instruments and view the linked charts.. but they behave as described above.
So I'm wondering if maybe I need to match periods and time frames of the data series or something similar?
Does anyone know if I can create a market analyzer to take advantage of this?
The end result being that I would like to be able to switch quickly between instruments and not have to wait for them to load. Or at least wait a lot less.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Loading means that it is loading historical data, usually from the server. Calculating is exactly that. A window (chart for example) will not load data if required data already exists in memory. Having a Market Analyzer loaded with all the instruments and an indicator column (this loads data series, same used for a chart) you ever wish to chart will ensure that data is loaded in memory. Keep in mind, if you are working with chart bars whose base data is a minute interval, make sure that your indicator column is based on minute data also.

Then create an indicator column based on any tick series, 100 tick bars for example.
