So i just wonder if anyone here using Multicharts have the same problem?
I connect Multichart to Oanda V20 live data feed since Oanda is my broker, everyday after 5pm to 5am the next day, my live data feed will just stop itself ( no update - no notification in Quote Manager - no time countdown).
I checked the session is 24 hours,

My current setup:
- 60 min chart
- 3024 bar backs
- Session 24 hour
Everything else is default

If i shut down multichart and all of it process and re open, the live data works for around 3 min and stop again.

If some one here have a clue please help !!!

merakitoji,

I would suggest contacting MC support as they can check your setup or fix any problems in case it's a bug.
There is a thread in the official forum describing a problem with Oanda data, but it might not be related to your situation: https://www.multicharts.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?t=51576

Regards,

ABCTG

Did you ever get a response? I had this same issue with Rithmic, switched to CQG and still had it. Also, it won't even load data from yesterday on the current instrument if the charts weren't loaded to record the ticks. Nothing looks amiss in quotemanager. This is pretty platform breaking imo, if I keep getting huge gaps in data I can't effectively build algos...

I contacted their support and never received an answer after showing them the recreated issue.

Look man, multicharts is broken!!!

I contacted Multicharts more than 8 times, every time they said wait for a fews days to weeks and then send me some exe file to fix the problem, but it never works up to the point i am so sick of it that i just subscribe to a different data feed (IQFEED for $50 AUD a month). However, by subscribing to the different data feed i saw a big drawn in performance ( not recommended)

Recently they release ( after 6 month i having the problem) V12 R5, it start to work again with Oanda data feed.

TBH, as soon as i find a better software im moving away from it.

Because here are the other problems:
- Backtest results in Multichart optimizing and Portfolio trader are completely different. Contact them and they do a remote connection, spend 1hour on my machine, change setting .... and nope they dont know what happen (running the strategy that come with the software). Sure, they gave us software package where one does not work with the other. Not enough information on programming for portfolio trader (no comment on example). Phantom signal in portfolio trader! Great now which one is the right one?

- Signal script and study script have to be separate spend huge amount of waste time trying to manual pass variable between the two.

- Drawing tools are lacking, if you compare Multichart which is a platform that running on local machine should have enough tools and better performance? Nope! Tradingview is web based and have much better performance ( loading, drawing, programming support, and a huge community, only drawback ? no optimization)

- Installed V12 R5 and then all my saved desktop and new power language indicator/signal goes banana. Great.

- The only advantage they have is optimization, and yeb they decline to do an automatic optimization base on condition

It just so much more ..... It feels like a startup rather than a establish company. So goodluck
