I opened the tread: https://nexusfi.com/traders-hideout/45088-what-happened-trading-naked-com.html

It was later closed because of this duplicate thread: https://nexusfi.com/trading-reviews-vendors/30735-www-trading-naked-com.html

I'm not a full blown member - how can I post to that (second) thread? I can't believe I'd have to pay $100 just to post to the thread. What am I missing?

Hi smtlaissezfaire,

Threads in the 'Trading Reviews and Vendors' have nothing to do with paying any premium (Elite) fees. Anybody can post in there.

Probably you are unable to do so because each section has a minimum amount of contributions (posts) needed.

Going from memory, most sections need at least 5 posts to be able to grant write access to users.

My suggestion: find other threads where you can contribute and do so. After you have reached the required number of posts you will be able to post in there as well.

Also please note: don't just post anything (e.g. junk posts) to reach the required number of posts, as that is against the site's terms.

Hope it helps.

Wouldn't it make more sense to not close the thread that I opened if I'm asked a direct question in it (and can't respond in the other thread)?

I'm new to futures so it seems pretty silly for anyone taking my advice. But if that's the community you are trying to create, I'm not sure if I want to be a part of it.

Hi @smtlaissezfaire

Just relax - you are nearly there: 1 post more and you are able to open own threads...
Welcome to the community!

No offense intended, but you'd be doing yourself a monumental disservice by turning your back on this place and the people here... all top notch, and the rules are in place to keep it that way.

There is a 10 post limit required to keep spammers from flooding the review threads. Closing duplicate threads ensures that discussions aren't fragmented and easier for users to follow.

Seems pretty simple to me. Neither of those have anything to do with being an elite member.

Welcome and you are free to stay or leave. It's entirely up to you.

But this community is the best as far as public trading forum goes. If you search some of forums in this site, you will have so many opportunities to give thanks to many contributors.

Yeah, agreed @kanepa + @Rrrracer - seems like Big Mike puts out pretty quality stuff and generally has reputable / good vendors (and I've only seen good stuff about futures.io online) which is why I was surprised.

I think the software is just old (phpbb?) and frustrating. For instance, if you're not going to let me post, don't take to a form in which I spend 10 minutes writing a reply only to say "sorry! - you need to pay $100 to be an elite member". That makes the site frustrating and seem like it's just trying to get my CC.

Anyway, looking forward to learning a bunch from you guys and hopefully contributing in due course.

The error message says what the restriction is, why it is there, and where it applies (in only 2 of over two dozen subforums).
