Yes, it is always better to use Limit-Orders to get out of a trade. "flatten" is good if you want to close it fast, I always use bracket-orders to closef a trade, this means I enter a trade with a bracket order (Target = Limit, Stop-Loss = Market)
3 easy choices... 1 is right click where you want to exit and choose buy/sell limit. The easier option is... Always use a bracket order with stop and target... the target is a limit order so all you have to do is drag it to where you want to exit. Infinity Futures has a TON of Sierra Chart educational videos on their Youtube page with at least a few dedicated to using the trade window for order management... 3rd There is also the "BUY ASK/BUY BID/SELL ASK/SELL BID" buttons right on your trade window!!! You can go to Sierra Chart's website and search "Trade Window" for a more detailed description...
It's (kind of) retarded how the trade box can open a trade yet it can't get you out of one without using a bracket order, either way, also WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT THE BUTTONS!!!!!??? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!?!
I could pretty easily make you a custom study for push button limit order using the control bar buttons with a user input for (x) number of ticks above/below current price PM me if you want to chat about it.
I already use control bar buttons to enter off of Renko Predictor High/Low or previous bar H/L, so would be relatively simple to do
