Hi,

Does anyone know how to submit the tax return to CRA when you are trading Futures? I know the dollar values need to be converted to Canadian dollar but how do you calculate the capital gain or loss? is it monthly or daily? what format is CRA looking to have the gain/loss?

Need to submit my tax return and one accountant I spoke to told me that CRA needs a list of every single trade with its proceeds. I am on TradeStation platform and they provide me with two options:

- A monthly summary of gain/loss for each trade and all the fee/comm with no purchase price, just asset name

- List of all trades for a year with buy or sell prices and contract quantities including all the fees

Would really appreciate a reply on this.
